Aerospace techno logy is current ly one of the most act ive and influential science and technology. Its products have high addit ional value, driving the development of other high and new techno logy, and exert great and far-reaching influence upon nat ional econo my. Metal-ceramic functionally gradient materials play a significant ro le in aerospace engine,but processing the material has always been a difficult problem.And EDM(Electrical Discharge Machining) is processed using the conductive film, avo id its difficult to processing the disadvantages of the tradit ional processing way.EDM become the best way o f the further processing for metal-ceramic funct ionally graded materials.This dissertation analyzes the status and development of do mest ic and foreign researches on the processing of metal-ceramic funct ionally gradient materials and studies its possibilit y o f EDM. In addit ion, thermodynamics property and processing mechanism of the metal-ceramic funct ionally gradient materials in electrical processing are presented. Based on the previo us studies, the reference data of discharge energy is calculated.It provides a theoret ical basis for processing.On the basis of theoretical analysis, EDM processes for metal-ceramic funct ionally gradient materials generalit y and individualit y are described, established the parts performance requirements.Design the discharge circuit which can adjust with the change o f material propert ies; accurately detect the state o f a new t ype o f wavelet detect ion circuit.After a large number o f experiments, the author selected the appropriate parameters range o f processing.Achieve higher processing efficiency and the better qualit y of the process. Reveals the process law of EDM metal-ceramic funct ionally gradient materials,acquire a high efficiency as well as qualit y du ring processing.
