In this paper, the computational methods and mechanical properties of varied-width single box multi-cell girder with corrugated steel webs were studied. Firstly, summarizing the existing common analysis methods for single box multi-cell girder, and the advantages and limitations of each method were expounded. As a result that the cruciform space frame method is of clear thinking in the analysis and modeling of single box multi-cell girder, and it can consider the spatial effect of box girder, thus making further study on the application of this method used in box girder with corrugated steel webs. For thin plate under pure shear state, the cruciform space frame method and the shell finite element method were adopted in modeling and computation, and the results were compared. The calculational formulas for element properties of corrugated steel webs using this method were derived. Then the result differences of this method and the shell finite element method in the computation of single box single-cell, single box three-cell and varied-width single box three-cell girder with corrugated steel webs were compared, verifying the applied feasibility of the cruciform space frame method in box girder with corrugated steel webs. In addition, the mechanical properties of varied-width and equal-width single box three-cell girder with corrugated steel webs were compared and analysed using the shell finite element method.Studies suggested that:1) Mesh density of the cruciform space frame method had great influence on the computational accuracy of shear deformation of plate, while the relationship between mesh density and computational error could be fitted with a power function, and appropriate mesh density needed selecting when this method was used to make analysis.2) When computing the box girder with corrugated steel webs, the result differences of the cruciform space frame method and the shell finite element method were tiny, proving that the calculational formulas of cruciform members derived in this paper could be applied in the calculation of box girder with corrugated steel webs, and with sufficient accuracy.3) The overall mechanical properties of varied-width and equal-width single box three-cell girder with corrugated steel webs had little difference, but the web shear distribution, the shear lag, the eccentric load coefficient and some other mechanical properties existed some differences, which should cause designers’attention. In this paper, the computational methods and mechanical properties of varied-width single box multi-cell girder with corrugated steel webs were studied. This study provided basis for the application of the cruciform space frame method in box girder with corrugated steel webs, and supplied reference for further research and promotion of single box multi-cell girder bridge with corrugated steel webs.
