Inland waterway transport is an important part of integrated transport, and the channel network analysis is also an important part of the inland waterway transport information management and application. Channel topology network update and reconstruct is the foundation of waterway network analysis and channel geometric network is the source data for generating channel network topology. So it is of great significance to research the channel geometry dynamically updated technology and channel topology network construction technology. The paper will do some researches on key technologies and methods of system design. As the following main steps:1) In the foundation of analyzing channel network features, discussing the technology of dynamically update of channel geometry network by combining with dynamic update matching indicators and update methods. The matching method on the basis of the geometric elements of space form features and the partial update method of geometric data based on grid partition are used to accomplish the update. It has good precision and high accuracy.2) Basing on analyzing channels’ characteristics, the paper does some researches on channel data structure design, data automatically processed and reconstruction of topological information. Taking the original channel geometry network data for example to reconstruct channel topology network. In the prototype system, using actual data to do the experiment, experimental results show that the channel topology network construction method has better applicability and feasibility.3) Analysis of the functional requirements of inland waterway transport information system, design of the overall structure of the software system design and completing system structure and function design. By analyzing the data requirements of the system, inland waterway data is divided into basic geospatial data and waterways professional data. And then designing Concept model and logic model of the data separately and coming out storage and management of waterway’s information system data. Finally, database design is finished.4) Based on the C# software development platform, and combining with ArcGIS Engine Components, building the system framework and developing the inland waterway information system. System functions include basic function, waterway data entry, storage data browsing, map query, channel geometric network dynamic update, and channel topology network construction...
