In recent years, with the rapid development of photovoltaic industry and the investment of discrete micro grid based on the new energy equipment in many countries, more and more distributed control intelligent and green building model come into the mind of people. In this paper, the model predictive control serve as a method of optimal control can be used in the energy management system of smart buildings. Under the precondition of taking outdoor tempreture and the interference of sun radiation into consideration, the purposes of this system are collect the electric energy from solar energy panels, the electric energy can be well used in heat pump to control the room tempreture and satisfy the electricity demand of electrical loads. The smart building management system includes two main parts:(1) The physical model of thermodynamic system can be described by quadratic programming problem. On the one hand, the room tempreture can be controlled nearby the reference tempreture, on the other hand, the power consumption of heat pump can be distributed reasonably. Thus, the maximum ultilization of energy can be realized effectively. Meawhile, as the control input of thermodynamic system, the power consumption of heat pump will be simulated in the electrical load.(2) Compared with the thermodynamic system, the state-space model of electric power system can be constructed by MIMO(Multiple input multiple output) linear system of MPC(Model predictive control). For the optimization problem of this model, the cost function can be constructed based on the summation of different control items. The objective of the model is not only satisfy the total electricity demand, but also can use the solar photovoltaic array boards to supply power directly and decreasing the dependence of battery. All of the data used in the model of this paper come from the Fraunhofer Institute measured in the German city of Magdeburg.
