Vibrating screen, the most common screening machinery in current engineering, is widely used in mining, metallurgy, medication, chemical industry and other fields. Vibratory screening is a task process of separating the material particle swarm according to different size through a vibration acted on the screen by a vibration exciter, which is usually divided into decompaction, stratification, screen-contacting and penetration. The effect of four factors is extremely complex, however, there have been few research results in this area at present and most of them were based on simulation analysis rather than experimental study.Based on the experimental screen of combined and adjustable translation-swing composited vibrating screens with high speed camera system to conduct material screening, the paper was studied the screening processes of translation and swing, and analyzed not only the relationship between screening parameters and screening efficiency in the vibration mode of swing, but also relationships between screening parameters and screen-contacting, screen-contacting and screening efficiency of each vibration mode of translation and swing. The main research contents are as follows:1. Image preprocessing of photos and feature extraction techniques were explored based on the vibratory screening experimental platform of combined high speed camera system with combined and adjustable translation-swing composited vibrating screens.2. Screening efficiency is defined to describe the screening effect. Based on the experiments of combined and adjustable translation-swing composited vibrating screens, studied the relationship between single vibration parameters(swing angle, swing frequency) and screen structural parameters(screen slope angle, opening ratio) with screening efficiency of new type of vibrating screen, and then established the mathematical model.3. Defining the probability of screen-contacting to describe the screen-contacting effect of material. Based on single factor experiment and the vibratory screening experimental screen of high speed camera system, researched the relationship between different vibration parameters(vibrating direction angle, vibration frequency, amplitude, swing angle, swing frequency) and structural parameters(screen slope angle, opening ratio) and average screen-contacting probability, and established the mathematical model.4. The relationship between screening efficiency and average screen-contacting probability was discussed under different vibration parameters and screen structural parameters according to the results of vibratory screening experiments.
