At present, ceramic sanitary product design and manufacture process remain at the traditional level of experience and lack effective theory and technical support, resulting in widely long development cycle and high cost. With the rapid development of digital technology and artificial intelligence, case-based design (CBD) has become a research hotspot in the field of artificial intelligence area. CBD method can express experience and knowledge clearly, so it is a wide range of attention and application.The paper combines the CBD theory with optimal design process and discusses the feasibility of its application. The toilet optimal design platform based on CBD is built, and the functional modules of the platform have been researched in-depth.This thesis studies the theory of case-based reasoning and its organizational structure and realization principle. Similarity-based theory of case retrieval strategy is adopted, and the toilet CBD system is developed by VB6.0 and Access2000, taking siphon as the demonstration examples for the platform. Neural network is raised to choose the original model from toilet CBD system. The optimization of the key structural parameters for siphon is completed by combing numerical simulation with orthogonal test method. In allusion to systemic research on numerical simulation of the flushing process of siphon toilet, a set of numerical research scheme with the method of Computational Fluid Dynamics is put forward, and numerical simulation of three-dimensional flow is implemented preparatorily. Based on the combination of design methodology, rapid manufacturing technology and NC machining technology, a complete set of experimental research program for toilet product is put forward. Prototype trials for toilet are finished, and washing performance tests are carried out. Test results show that the optimized toilet has about 50% water-saving, thereby the accuracy of numerical simulation and optimization has been verified.It will be seen that applying CBD technology to the development of new toilet product can reuse the design information of existing mature products. It can greatly shorten the product design cycle, improve product quality, and enhance the design and development capability of enterprise.
