Gas-insulated switch (GIS) is widely used in power system and plays a vital role. When any problem happens, there would be a serious impact on the power system. So it is very necessary to do the on-line monitoring for the safe operation of GIS.Because off-line monitoring methods must cut the power of the area, this paper presents a DSP-based GIS partial discharge signal acquisition system with external sensors. Through ultra-high frequency and ultrasonic signal acquisition of the GIS equipment, on-line monitoring of partial discharge does not affect its proper operation. This paper focuses on DSP-based GIS partial discharge signal acquisition system and its implementation. Firstly, a detailed description of the entire system which is divided into three modules: DSP module, AD module and the motherboard module. DSP module is mainly responsible for controlling the whole system, arithmetic operations and back-end server communication; AD module uses CPLD to control to sample and uses the I2C bus to communicate with the DSP module; motherboard module provides power and bus connections, and various auxiliary functions for the system. Secondly, the paper introduces the software of the signal acquisition front-end. Thirdly, using experiment to test the whole system and verify its function. Finally, the whole system implementation and research are reviewed, and proposed future directions for improvement.
