Social conflict, as a basic social member interaction, is universal in human society and the conflict is the crucial motive force of social existence and development. The news media should play an important role in resolving social conflicts and promoting social progress. This paper first summaries the feature of social conflict issues and overviews the situation of the traditional media coverage of social conflict issues generally.At the same time, this thesis discusses new challenges in social conflict issues reporting,which the news media are facing in new communication era: social conflict being more dominant, the irrational degree of social conflict being deeper influenced by the Internet public opinion "populist". Finally, this thesis discusses the better way to report conflict issues from the target position and reports principles and specific measures of current news media in detail, power the news media in the process of social conflict issues reporting.
