| "China News Weekly" was founded in 2000, in order to provide their readers with domestic and international major news contents. As the news weekly, cover story is very important and it is the key for the magazine.I selected cover stories about nearly five years from 2010 to 2014, which included 240 issues. By studying, I have made some conclusion. The cover story of the China New Weekly has the relatively fixed position in the body, and has striking titles and pictures, important position in weekly. Cover stories always pursue editing concepts that seek the true facts, excavate deep reasons, independent judgment and unbiased ideas. The contents of the cover story are complete, can cover all walks of life. Most of those are neutral ideas. Behind the contents, the news weekly wants to push the development of system, pay attention to the value of the civil rights claims. In terms of cover design, most of its titles are short, with four words, and black color. Less titles use punctuation marks. The arrangement which was used in the cover image background and image design is very rich and creative. Comparing with cover story of the Phoenix Weekly Magazine,I found that they have something in common, and they are also many differences. |
