Yan Wu was a famous military journalist in Chinese contemporary news history. He has reported the Anti-Japanese War, the liberation war, the war to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea, after the founding of local war and army modernization constructions in peace time. During half a century of his military journalist career, Yan Wu was one of leading lights in our country’s military news report field and created the three "Most" in the history of contemporary military report—attended the most times of war, wrote up the most numbers of military news report and organized the most amount frontline report of battles. At the same time, he was known for the close-up scene news of battles and has left large amounts of military masterpiece of scene news such as the "crossing the Yangtze River scenes", "Du Yuming bandits final collapse scenario", "Lang Son after war", which greatly enriched the Chinese contemporary military news treasure.However, we can find very few monographic studies of Yan Wu, especially complete discourse of academic articles of his military news report practice and his social contributions. Therefore, this article, which is based on a large collection and systematic reading of Yan Wu’s military news works and related literature, with the objective research attitude and the scientific system of method combed Yan Wu’s military news report practice among more than 40 years; investigated the artistic feature and highly original of Yan Wu’s work of scene news of battles intensively and mined his great social contributions for the military news career development of our country. In order to fill the part blank of military news report research in China.
