Since establishment, operation risk is one of the most common risk of commercial banks, which appears in every process of commercial bank management. At present, in many domestic commercial banks, loss caused by operational risk is significantly greater than by credit risk or market risk. Therefore, carrying out operational risk management becomes the important goal of the banking risk management. Efficient operation risk management system not only can promote the healthy development of financial area, but also promotes finance and economic development. In recent years, the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) has reformed risk management system unceasingly, strengthened the management of operation risk, established operation risk supervision regulations system. Commercial Banks also continue to increase the operation risk manage system, standardize and develop the system construction, take effective measures to improve operational risk management identification, detection and controlling. The effective control of operational risk is directly related to the stable operation and healthy development of commercial banks. Reformed from a credit cooperative bank, S bank is undertaking the service of small and medium-sized enterprises, the important responsibility of the real economy development. Meanwhile, as a new type of joint-stock bank, S bank also takes shareholder interest maximization as the aim of development and management, takes actively participate in market competition, business product innovation. The level and efficiency of the operational risk management is directly related to the healthy business development and innovation breadth. This paper carries out a systematic research on the domestic and international operational risk management system, summed up the experience of establishing and developing operation risk management system from abroad, combing the operation risk management system development process of China. On the basis of the advanced concept and method of operation risk management from China and abroad, proceed from actual condition, this paper concluded S bank operation risk management problems, and analyzed the cause of the problem. Combined with years of working experience in risk management, through using tool of operational risk management, expanding the scope of management, innovation management, optimizing the management system, optimization idea is put forward. Especially put forward the idea of operation risk management system, integrated bank process, can control operational risks, improve work efficiency, promote the healthy development of the business. This paper attempts to improve our management level, on the other hand, provides reference for other bank’s risk management.
