In recent years, with the increasing demand for railway transportation as well as people’s increasing requirements for its safety and comfort, a great number of large-scale modern railway terminal passenger stations have begun to emerge. A majority of the newly-built railway stations have brought convenience for passengers by adopting the overhead on-line waiting mode. However, due to the long span and the low flexibility of the elevated waiting hall, when the main tracks of the trains pass under the station building, the vibration is transmitted to the floor slabs of the waiting hall through the soil mass, structural columns and so on, which brings discomfort to passengers. Therefore, it is of immensely important theoretical and practical significance to study the vibration comfort level and vibration control of the railway station building structure under the stimulation of the train travel. In this paper, the station building structure of Daqing West Railway Station of Harbin-Tsitsihar Passenger Special Railway Hub Station was adopted as the research object, and the vibration response regularity of the station building structure under the stimulation when different main tracks pass through the train travel was analyzed. In addition, the vibration comfort level of the station building structure was evaluated, and measures of vibration mitigation were proposed to control the vibration of floor slabs. This paper mainly completed the following four aspects.(1) The basic problems and methods of the analysis on vibration comfort level were discussed and analyzed, and the evaluation methods and evaluation indicators of vibration comfort level in the international standard, Chinese standard, American Standard, British standard, Danish Standard and Japanese standard were compared. Finally, combined with the special nature of the railway station building, the vibration allowable value of the 4b Category Environment in Chinese Standard was selected as the evaluation indicator of vibration comfort level in this paper.(2) The transmission law and attenuation regularity of the site soil and the station building structure when different trains pass the station were analyzed and summarized by means of field measurement. According to the analysis on the evaluation method and the evaluation indicators of vibration comfort level in this paper, a conclusion was drawn that when passenger trains and empty goods trains passed the station, the vibration comfort degrees of the floor slabs of the waiting hall were in the scope of the allowable values, while when heavy and long goods trains passed the station, all the vibration comfort degrees of the floor slabs of the waiting hall exceeded the limitation sharply and most of the predominant frequencies of the vibration of floor slabs were around 6.3Hz.(3) By combining with the test results and using the finite element method, the vibration response of the upper structure under the stimulation of the train travel was analyzed, and the vibration comfort degree of the floor slabs of the waiting hall was evaluated based on the finite element method.(4) With regard to the exceeding vibration comfort level which was caused when the main tracks of heavy and long goods trains passed through the station building, the TMD system was used to conduct vibration attenuation for the floor slabs of the waiting hall in this paper. The results of calculation showed that, when the mass ratio of each floor slab of the TMD system was 0.1, the vibration mitigation system could control the vibration of the floor slab within the allowable value, and the insertion loss reached 13 dB to 17dB, while the vibration attenuation volume reached 15% or even more.
