Reverse engineering is based on the existing product or model, with a certain measurement equipment to measure physical or model, 3 d contour point data again according to the measurement point data obtained by 3 d geometric modeling method to construct a physical model, and then use these models for the analysis of the product, the manufacture and innovation process. Compared with the traditional way of top-down design, reverse engineering is more suitable for only products or physical model, there is no drawing under the condition of product manufacturing. In reverse engineering machinery,aviation, aerospace, medical and other fields increasingly widely applied and got more and more attention. Non-contact measurement based on laser scanner is presented in this paper,on the basis of the reverse engineering key technologies of integral impeller is studied.Integral impeller impeller blade thin, relatively long cantilever length, at the same time,due to the complex space geometric shape, its processing to use long knives and multi-axis linkage machine tool. So the impeller from product design, processing and manufacturing to the service has long been a technical difficulty in the general scientific and technical personnel, through reverse engineering research to explore a method of integral impeller rapid prototyping modeling, to the impeller nc machining in our country has the very vital significance.This topic mainly takes a certain type of integral impeller as the research object, adopt the method of non-contact measurement, the impeller blade surfaces by laser scanner scans,the realization of digital measurement of impeller parts, on the surface of the sample model coordinates information, in order to gain the complete data and information, and using the reverse engineering technology to realize the integral impeller with entity modeling, using UG software to the impeller blades of point cloud data is optimized to get high quality surface reconstruction, complete impeller parts modeling, and should be in production practice. In the process to understand the working principle of laser scanner used in data acquisition study, study its operation method, master the method to set up the system used in the software.
