High- speed trains,subways and intercity trains are developing rapidly in our country.However,the rail is the main foundation of the train,in such a high speed of train,rail wear and the disease is easy to intensify.All kinds of damage is inevitable under the rail rolling contact of wheel and rail wit h a long t ime. Rail milling and grind ing machine is a new kind of rail repair equipment and milling process is the most important core part of milling machine. Milling can remove the most of the machining allowance.It is directly related to the processing effect and working efficiency of milling and grinding vehicle.The research results will provide reliable theoretical guide to designer at the selection of milling cutter motor, the optimizat ion of cutting tool angle and the study on cutter head milling removal mechanis m.The main contents are as follows:(1) Based on milling force calculation method,a single factor milling force experiments are carried out and the influence of different process parameters on milling forces are studied. According to the measurements of milling force,the Deng Gena’s relation between the rail material cutting thickness and unit cutting force is determined,and the milling force and motor power are calculated under the condit ion of milling and grind ing vehicle working. Wit h the aid of the finite element simulat ion software, the 2D milling simulation is carried out and the reliability of the milling force calculat ion is verified under the condition of milling and grind ing vehic le working(2) To investigate the relationship between milling temperature and geometry parameters of tool,the 3D simulation model of milling temperature is established based on the Advant Edge software;The influence of cutting parameters o n milling temperature is investigated,and the cutting temperature between tool and working surface is measured using artific ial K therma l couple.The cutting temperature between cutter and filings surface is measured using infrared thermal imaging instrument;The experimental measurement temperature and Advant Edge milling temperature simulation results are compared,through comparison,the reliability of 3D model is also verified.The influence of tool parameters on milling temperature of first deformat ion zone is investigated,it also can provide some reference for the structure design of cutter.(3) The influence of processing parameters on milling surface residual stress,metallographic structure and surface roughness is investigated.The above achieve ments will play a significant role to solve different rail diseases in high efficiency milling processing.
