Plants grown in the middle greenbelt of highway in the North is hard to survive because of rare of natural rainfall, difficulty of artificial irrigation. Analyzed the characteristics of the equidistance scattered model of planting in Beijing highway, this paper introduces a new rainwater collection mode which can decrease the costing and the frequency of irrigation. Firstly, three simulated greenbelts were constructed to observe the growth vigor of Sabina using this method. Secondly, through measuring the soil moisture evaporation and simulated rainfall, three different kinds of silane emulsion (organic silicon), Dow Corning IE-6683, Dow Corning520and organ silicon stock solution, were tested to provide a reference for practical application. The results are displayed as follows:(1) The discrepancy of the soil evaporative between the organic silicon and the contrast is unremarkable but the soil moisture content of the organic silicon catchments was higher than the contrast under5cm. In the simulated rainfall experiment, the soil erosion quantity of catchments sprayed organic silicon was smaller, that was, when the rain intensity was0.90mm/min, and the slope was15°, the erosion quantities of three kinds of catchments were respectively0.80,12.12and4.83percent compared with the contrast’s.(2) The water-harvesting efficiency were best when the ratio of silicon and water was1:16; the average efficiency was up90%. The highest efficiency was96.96%made by Dow Corning IE-6683,96.50%for Dow Corning520, and90.24%for the unmixed organic silicon solution respectively. The slope of catchment had significant influence upon the rainwater harvesting efficiency. When the slope was around9°, the unmixed organic silicon solution made the best efficiency. The efficiency of Dow Corning520and Dow Corning IE-6683had the same variation tendency with the slope, the larger the slope, the higher the efficiency. Considering the cost of three kinds of catchments, which were4.31,29.68and32.47Yuan/m2,the best choice is the unmixed organic silicon solution.(3) The Sabina’growth vigor was better than the contrasts, because the catchments were constructed. The average plant height of the contrast was164.92cm, while the average plant heights of10m: and8m2catchments were175.08cm and178.37cm. More branches grown after using this rainwater collection technology.
