Vaccinium (Vaccinium Spp.) plants, belonging to Ericaceae (Ericaceae), is commonlyknown as the blueberry. There are more than400species in Vaccinium Spp. plants around theworld. They are mainly distributed in North America, Europe and Asia,with the North Americabeing the most distributing area.90species of Vaccinium (Vaccinium Spp.) plants have beenfound across the China up to now. They mostly grew up in the northeast, southwest and southChina. In recent years, the concern and research to the blueberry are also increasingly deeperdue to its economic value and health care efficacy. Studies and reports to the blueberry on itscultivation mode, nutritional value, pharmacological effects, domesticated and germplasmresources have been more and more perfect with the development of blueberry industry.This paper is concerned on the3Blueberry Cultivars "main cultivation"(Northcountry)"northland"(Northland) and"Medea"(Blomidon) in ChangChun, a city in thenortheast of China. This experiment aims at the annual and perennial plant stems of3blueberryvarieties by using paraffin section technology and woodslice technique anatomy. Then throughthe observation and data analysis, we can obtain some conclusion.Here are the main results asfollow:1. In3kinds of Vaccinium stem, the phloem consists of sieve tube and phloem parenchymacells. The differentiation of companion cells and phloem fiber is not obvious. Thephloem cells in3kinds of Vaccinium arrange in a regular distribution.2. The secondary xylem in3kinds of Vaccinium stem is made of catheter, tracheid, woodray and wood parenchyma cells. Besides, the cambium is very distinct. In3kinds of Vaccinium,wood are all diffuse-porous wood and catheter types are both scalariform vessel and pittedvessel. They all have ladder simple perforation plate and multiple perforation plates.Thepit type between the tube is each column. In addition, solitary pore is dominant and multiplepore is minority. Wood ray is mostly linear ray and less for multiseriate ray. The types of woodray mostly can be alien I and less for alien II.3. There are axial parenchyma in each of3kinds of Vaccinium. Most of the axialparenchyma is apotracheal parenchyma, containing terminal parenchyma and diffuseparenchyma. The few of the axial parenchyma is paratracheal parenchyma, includingunilaterally paratracheal parenchyma.4. The vessels in3kinds of Vaccinium plants are all simple perforation plate. The end wall of (Northcountry) vessel is mostly inclined, especially the part of perforation. There is a long tailin one end. Additionally, most of the vessels are scalariform catheter. The tilt angle of cathetermolecular end wall (blomidon) is smaller than that of the other two varieties, with the pittedvessel being the majority. The tilt angle of end wall (Northland) and the thickening of side wallare in the middle place than those of the other two varieties. The evolution direction of vesselelement is the from slender to stubby and the tilt angle of end wall from big to small, so the(Medea) is relatively advanced and the(Northcountry) is relatively primitive.In conclusion,(Northcountry) have primitive characters,(Northland) have less primitivecharacters and (Medea) have advanced characters. The evolution trend of3plants of Vacciniumis (Northcountry)(primitive)-(Northland)(less primitive)-(Medea)(advanced).
