Cyclone-type sand trap helps to understand the movement of sand erosion and so on. For study of sand trap, mainly focused on wind tunnel tests and field tests. Few studies of numerical simulation for the sand trap separator. With the development and progress of the finite element method, numerical simulation of the flow field of Sand trap cyclone based on Fluent and ANSYS Workbench in order to analyze the principle of its work, and understand the law of movement, after gas (air) into the sand trap and improve the program in order to improve the collection efficiency.The following conclusions:Based on the RNG k-ε model and Reynolds stress model to simulate cyclone sand trap. the true image of the movement of the gas phase can be shown by post-processing module of ANSYS Workbench. The presence of "shunting" and "secondary flow" can be observed. Test three different structural parameters of the sand trap In the wind tunnel test chamber of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University. Structural parameters of the cylinder diameter50mm; cone segment height of125mm of sand trap has better separation performance,with the amount of sand in the first layer. Numerical simulation of three different structural parameters sand trap separator based on Fluent. Maximum turbulent kinetic energy of Structural parameters D=50mm; HC=125mm, the maximum turbulent kinetic energy of the bottom of sandbox is0.99m2/s2. Maximum tangential velocity of sandbox is8.17m/s, the maximum axial velocity of sandbox bottom1.48m/s.The combination of numerical simulation and experiment to determine the axial velocity at the bottom of the sandbox, the tangential velocity and turbulent kinetic energy as the objective function. Change length of straight pipe of sandbox of separator sand trap, Select the length of straight pipe of sandbox is16mm,18mm. can reduce the axial velocity and turbulent kinetic energy of the bottom of the sandbox and improve the efficiency of collection of sand in sand trap theoretically.
