This paper mainly reports the effects of Se and cold hardening on mergence rate of direct-seeded rice; the effects of Se, cold hardening and seeding method on root length and the effects of Se on alleviating herbicide injury. The wet and dry seeding emergence rates of Daohuaxiang2, Jixidao1and Longjing31seeds treated with0.06mg· L-1Se, and Kongyu131treated with0.08mg· L-1Se was enhanced significantly. The emergence rate of Daohuaxiang2treated with0.06mg· L-1Se followed by2℃cold hardening was both increased by12.5percentage points (P<0.01) than-2℃cold hardening and25℃on dry seeding. The emergence rate of Jixidao1treated with0.06mg· L-1Se followed by-2℃and2℃cold hardening was increased by33.3(P<0.01) and25.0percentage points (P<0.05) than25℃on dry seeding, respectively. The effects of cold hardening on wet seeding emergence rate was not significant.The dry seeding root length of Daohuaxiang2seeds treated with0.06mg·L-1Se followed by-2℃cold hardening was4.1and4.8cm longer than2℃cold hardening and25℃(P<0.01), respectively. The wet seeding root length of Daohuaxiang2treated with0.06mg· L"1Se followed by-2℃and2℃cold hardening was1.1and0.9cm longer than25℃(P<0.05), respectively. The dry seeding root length of Longjing31treated with0.04mg· L-1Se followed by-2cold hardening was1.2cm longer than25℃(P<0.05), wet seeding root length of Longjing31seeds treated with0.08mg· L-1Se followed by2℃cold hardening was1.5cm longer than25℃(P<0.05).The dry seeding root length of Daohuaxiang2treated with0.04mg· L-1Se followed by-2℃and2℃cold hardening was2.5and3.7cm longer than wet seeding root length(P<0.01), respectively. The dry seeding root length of Daohuaxiang2treated with0.06mg· L-1Se followed by-2℃cold hardening was5.5cm longer than wet seeding root length.The dry seeding root length of Longjing31treated with0.04mg· L-1Se followed by2℃and-2℃cold hardening was2.2and5.3cm longer than wet seeding root length (P<0.01), respectively. The dry seeding emergence rate of Daohuaxiang2seeds treated with0.06mg· L-1Se sprayed with roundup1day before seeding was decreased by30.0and23.3percentage points (P<0.01) than sprayed with roundup3days and2days before seeding, respectively. The emergence rate seeds treated with0mg· L-1Se sprayed with thiobencard was decreased by20.0percentage points (P<0.05) than the control, the effects of emergence rate seeds treated with0.06mg· L-1Se was not significant. The emergence rate treated with0.06mg· L-1Se sprayed with butachlor hymexazol was increased20.0percentage points (P<0.05) than0mg· L-1Se.
