Wheat stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. Tritici, is one of the mostdestructive diseases of wheat and can cause severe yield losses. Due to its fast spread andhigh frequent occurrences, the disease has attracted much global attention. Thesedevastating epidemics led to an increased emphasis on monitoring and early warning onstripe rust. Warning system of wheat stripe rust in Longdong, Longnan, and Guanzhong wasstudied in this research. Under the guidance of web technology, a web-based wheat striperust remote warning system was developed with the softwares as tomcat, MySQL database,java, and so on. The system realized the function of romote forecast on wheat stripe rust,obtain and save the meteorological data and wheat stripe rust occurrence date.It was composed of Wheat Stripe Rust Predict, Back-stage Management, User Login&Registeration and Information Management, which was established using wisdoms andexperiences of wheat stripe rust experts and models developed based on the data collectedthrough nearly40years. It could be used for long-term prediction, mid-term prediction,short-term prediction, production loss prediction, and control critical period prediction.The system was tested using the data from plant protection extension centre ofPingliang, Tianshui, and Baoji during2000-2013. Results showed that the accuracy rate oflong-term prediction, mid-term prediction, and short-term prediction were85.7%,92.6%,and92.6%, respectively. The system realized the remote prediction of wheat stripe rustepidemic level with high prediction accuracy.
