Stand structure had significant influence in exerting its function, stand structureregulation was the essential of forest management activities, quantitative analysis on standstructure, could be conducive to improve the accuracy of the decisions for standmanagement. The natural Castanopsis fabri forest in Jinggang Mountain National NatureReserve was selected as the research object, with the basis of typical plot survey, its spatialand non-spatial structure were analyzed to provide theoretical foundation for standmanagement, by the non-spatial structure factors including species composition, diameterstructure, height structure, and the spatial structure factors including mingling degree, neighborhood comparison, variance/mean ratio, assembling index, uniform angle. Themain results were as follows:(1) The tree density of the stand was750trees per hectare, with the breast-heightbasal area was21.08m2·hm-2, the ratios of conifer to broadleaf on species number, individual number and breast-height basal area were0.8:9.2,0.5:9.5and0.6:9.4,respectively. The individual number showed the inverted “J” line with the DBHdistribution, and the asymmetrical single-peak mountain line with the height distribution, the ratio of individual number for undersized tree to mid-diameter tree to big diameter treewas6.5:2.0:1.5.(2) The tree species segregation degree for the stand, its diameter class groups anddominant tree species group all reached intensity.(3) Dominant tree species showed a slight dominance by DBH, a moderate situationby the tree height, and a mild dominance by crown breadth. While reflecting the degree ofdominance on growing up for the dominant tree species from the adjacent trees, theconsistency of crown breadth and DBH was preferable, slightly higher than that of treeheight and DBH, whereas the consistency of tree height and crown breadth was poor.(4) From the forms on amount distribution, the spatial distribution patterns of stand, its diameter class groups and dominant tree species group all showed the randomdistribution. From the distribution forms on the distance between the nearest adjacent trees, the spatial distribution patterns of stand, its undersized trees, and dominant trees with thenearest adjacent trees all showed the aggregated-random distribution, whereas the spatialdistribution patterns of mid-diameter trees, big diameter trees, and the nearest adjacentdominant trees all showed the random distribution. From the distribution forms on spatialposition among the nearest4trees arounding the reference tree, the spatial distributionpattern of stand showed the aggregated-random distribution, the spatial distributionpatterns of undersized trees, mid-diameter trees and big diameter trees showed theaggregated-random distribution, the uniform distribution and the aggregated distribution, respectively, while the spatial distribution patterns of dominant tree with the nearest4trees of arbitrary tree species, or the nearest4dominant trees, showed the aggregateddistribution and random distribution.
