Wheat strip rust(Puccinia striiformis West.f.sp.tritici Eriks et Henn)is the most important wheatdisease in the world. And it’s difference because species、 distributions and regions,Zhao(2011) found that wheat stripe rust main occur area in China are generally associateddifferent kinds of berberis. The aecidium separates from the leaves of berberis which wasinfected in nature confirmed that part of them is the aecidium of wheat stripe rust in GansuLongnan. We have proved that there are a variety of berberis in China can normal infected bywheat stripe rust pathogen spores, the aecidiospore formed on berberis will infect successfuland generate typical symptom of stripe rust in the laboratory (Zhao et al.,2013). The alternatehost of wheat stripe rust of China is berberis in natural conditions,Wheat stripe rust of sexualreproduction can complete the whole cycle by berberis. In this study infected305pieces berberis leaves under natural conditions, the infectedberberis is70, the incidence is0.2295, although we found stripe rust on berberis, but afterinoculated wheat by aecidiospore from berberis, the infection rate is extremely low.70strainsisolated from infection berberies identificated toxicity phenotype showed that there are33known species and37new strains, the toxicity of the37new virluence spectrums are differentwith all the known Chinese wheat stripe rust species. So we speculated the37new strains is atypical sexual groups, and excluded that the single spore had been contaminated. Thus we canprove that wheat stripe rust can infect the berberis under natural conditions.Infected wheat samples collected in the wheat field near the natural susceptibleberberis, toxicity phenotype identification of wheat stripe rust on wheat samples were obtainedfrom71single spore strains, using the toxicity phenotypes compared and analyzed the strainsisloated from nature infected berberis and the strains from wheat samples, and toxicity ratio ofCYR32and Hy46pathotype Hy7superiority speciecs reach14.8%from wheat samples, toxicity ratio of Guinong22species up to35.2%.Toxicity ratio of CYR32superiority speciesreach15.7%and toxicity ratio of Guinong22species up to28.6%in the known speciesisolated from susceptible berberis, in this two populations, toxicity ratio of CYR32andGuinong22known species are close, so it can be assumed that in this two populations havegene exchanges, CYR32and Guinong22species is from susceptible berberis,70strains produced in susceptible berberiss, new strains accounted for52%,55wheat samples, newstrains accounted for34.5%.Although wheat stripe rust have genetic recombination phenomenon in the process ofsexual reproduction, but it doesn’t means that all the new strains can develop be advantagesspecies. To prevent and control wheat stripe rust,we can eradicate berberis and sprayingfungicides on berberis.
