Coccinella septempunctata L. is an excellent insect natural enemy. This study firstly constructed the Suppression Subtractive Hybridization (SSH) Library of the diapause C. septempunctata by using of SSH technique, in which a set of the diapause differentially expressed genes were found and the functions of the relative diapause genes were discussed. The research results would provided clues for exploring the diapause regulation mechanism.1. It’s the first time that we had screened 69 of the diapause differentially expressed genes from the forward Library and 67 from the reverse Library respectively. The number of differentially expressed genes was significantly more than that in the same genus of insects.2. Through the GO classification and PATHWAY analysis, the differentially expressed genes were speculated to be involved in the process of signal transduction, biosynthesis, primary metabolism and secondary metabolism, and the function of 8 kinds of genes were discussed to be correlated with reproductive stress resistance, energy metabolism, cell structure component, mass transfer, cytoskeleton, regulation, and lipid metabolism.3. The facilitated trehalose transporter (XP969304)gene and the facilitated glucose transporter member 1 isoform, (GLUT1) (XP973968) gene were studied in relationship with the transport function during the diapause of C. septempunctata, and the cullin3 gene (XP967420) and Rsf 1 (XP969323) were analysised in relationship with the regulation of ovarian development during the diapause of C. septempunctata.4. The isocitric acid dehydrogenase (XP968850) gene and the Succinyl CoA ligase (GDP-forming) gene were discussed in relationship with the energy metabolism during the diapause of C. septempunctata, and the pancreatic lipase related enzymes (XP001807564) gene and the acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (XP 966406) gene were also discussed in relationship with the lipid metabolism during the diapause of C. septempunctata.
