Plant growth process, water as one of the most important environmental factors. Panax notoginseng studies this study in two years, by pot experiments under different soil water conditions on the second annual growth of Panax notoginseng, photosynthetic characteristics and effective component of the accumulation and the monthly water consumption have been studied, hoping for biennial Panax notoginseng water management to provide the reference in the field, to find the most suitable soil moisture content of two annual growth of Panax notoginseng. Results were as follows:1. The soil moisture content of 85%θf and 45%θf under biennial plant height was significantly higher than that of the Panax notoginseng 70%θf and 60%θf treatment plant height, biennial plant height increased with soil moisture content of Panax notoginseng showed a trend of decreased and then increased. Basal stem diameter increased with soil water content also showed a trend of decreased and then increased. 85%θf and 45%θf groups dealing with respective Panax notoginseng average height of 22.40 cm,22.43 cm, basal stem diameter the mean value is 0.46 cm, Crown 24.59 cm,24.42 cm, respectively. 4 blade length in 7.5 cm~8.0 cm of the group, the difference was not significant, 85%θf and 45%θf 4.20 cm,4.46 cm width respectively. 70%θf and 60%θf 3.37 cm,3.30 cm width respectively.2. When the soil water content was 70%θf Panax notoginseng leaf photosynthetic rate is the highest among 4 groups(4.1483 μmol·m-2·s-1), 45%θf Group’s net photosynthetic rate to 2.8052μmol·m-2·s-1 is the lowest. Transpiration rate(Tr) when the value soil moisture content of 70%θf maximum transpiration rate(1.0388 mol·m-2·s-1), soil water content of 85%θf minimum transpiration rates(0.5925 mol·m-2·s-1). Soil moisture content was 70%θf conductance at time of Max(0.0673 mmol·m-2·s-1), when the soil water content of 45%θf minimum(0.0371 mmol·m-2·s-1). Soil water on intercellular CO2 concentration was 45%θf group of maximum concentrations(329.2883 μmol·m-2·s-1), minimal concentrations 60%θf Group(302.4041 μmol·m-2·s-1).3. For Panax notoginseng different soil moisture conditions dry and fresh weight has a greater impact, specific performance: 70%θf compared with 85%θf, the above-ground fresh weight and aboveground dry weight, and root fresh weight, dry root weight index 0.36,1.29,0.29,0.33-fold increase, respectively. 70%θf by treatment than under 45%θf, the above-ground fresh weight and aboveground dry weight, and root fresh weight, root dry weight increased up to 2.46,1.42,2.42,0.68 times. Therefore, the high soil moisture content(85%θf) or too low(45%θf) were all against Panax notoginseng biomass accumulation.4. Panax notoginseng changes of saponin content under different soil moisture: second annual roots of Panax notoginseng individuals, soil moisture content was 60%θf Panax notoginseng saponins R1 content reached a maximum of 1%, ginsenoside Rd content reached a maximum of 3.561%. Ginsenoside Rg1 in soil water content of 45%θf its content at 2.177% is 4 maximum value in the group. When the soil water content is 70%θf ginsenoside Rb1 content 3.273% is a process in highest concentrations. When the soil water content was 60%θf of saponins from more than 4 percent and a peak of 8.925%.To sum up, combined with soil moisture content on Panax notoginseng roots dry weight per plant, photosynthetic characteristics and effective component of the accumulation and the effects, 60%θf~70%θf were identified as the second annual growth stage Panax notoginseng of the most suitable soil moisture content, water conditions on dry matter accumulation of roots of Panax notoginseng, photosynthesis efficiency, as well as the accumulation of saponin best.5. Test sets according to flow from high to low soil moisture content, second annual water consumption per plant of Panax notoginseng as follows: 1.973kg?plant-1, 1.820 kg plant-1, 2.047 kg ? plant-1, 1.793 kg ? plant-1. Water consumption is not the same, but from April to June is the peak period of water consumption, water the consistency of the law showed the strong. June monthly water consumption, From July 17 to October 5, there is a clear decline. According to the actual situation in the field of water management, timely adjustment of irrigation schemes. When the moisture content of the soil is 70% θf 1.567 gDW ? kgH2O-1 water use efficiency was highest in treatments.Combined with soil water content on the 2-year-old Panax notoginseng root per plant dry mass, photosynthetic characteristics and accumulation of active ingredients content, 60% θf~70%θf is determined to be Panax notoginseng next year growth phase most suitable soil moisture content, water conditions on dry matter accumulation of roots of Panax notoginseng, photosynthesis, as well as the accumulation of saponin best.
