This study was to investigate and analyze the diversity of greenbelt plant in Wuhai city, clearly understanding garden plant species and same greenbelt species planted under the similar environment in general city, then the plant diversity of green space in Wuhai city was also planned。Early stage, we have investigated 26 plots and 53 quadrats, and according to the type of the green, where the land could be divided into four types: park green space, road green space, residential area of green space, attached green space, etc. The specific location was as fowlow: park green space(9): Wuhai botanical garden, Castle Peak calligraphy Park, people’s Park, ect. road green space(10): Haibei street, Boulevard, Hailalu ect. residential area of green space(4): Zuanbei District, drilling Mengxi Golden garden, Hengda oasis, United College. attached green space(3): people’s Hospital, Wuhai city government, Wuhai vocational and technical school.There are 37 species of green plants, 68 genera and 108 species in Wuhai. Among them, the trees had 19 families, 31 genera and 58 genera; the shrub had 21 species, 34 genera and 46 species; the herbaceous plants had 14 species, 23 genera and 26 species.As the arbor plants, the Salix babylonica、Pinus sylvestris、Salix matsudana ect. appeared more frequently; the shrubs such as Juniperus formosana 、Ligustrum obtusifolium 、Syringa oblata ect.were planted more; and the distribution of Iris lactea Pall var. chinensis 、 Hylotelephium erythrostictum ect., belonging to herbaceous plants, were obvious. For the four kinds green land, the park green space contained 102 species of plants(47 arbor plants, 35 shrubs plants and 20 herbs plants); road green space contained 69 species(27 arbor plants, 27 shrubs plants and 15 herbs plants); residential district green space contained 29 species(11 arbor plants, 8 shrubs plants and 7 herbs plants); attached green space contained 26 species(8 arbor plants, 10 shrubs plants and 11 herbs plants). The vertical structure type were mostly arbor + shrub + herb.The Simpson index of arbor, shrubs and herbaceous plants were 0.947, 0.857 and 0.716 respectively. The highest Simpson index was the arbor plant(0.943) in park green space, and the lowest in the shrub plants(0.321) in the attached green space.. Margalef index was 7.433, 3.806 and 1.958, respectively. The highest Margalef index was the arbor(6.711) in the park greenbelt.. Shannon-wiener index was 3.390, 2.199 and 1.826, respectively, and the complexity ofarbor in park green space was the highest(8.711), and the Shannon-wiener index of shrub was the lowest(0.821). Pielou index was 0.838, 0.578 and 0.560, respectively. The Pielou index of the tree layer in the attached green space was the highest(0.853), and the Pielou index of the shrub in the attached green space was the lowest(0.356).The whole evaluation of plant diversity index of the green space was park green space> road green space> attached green space>residential area of green space(from high to low). Additionally, the indicators of park green space were higher than these in other three green, especially for residential area of green space were lowest, mainly due to short for the final-period management. Finally, our study also indicated that the green plant species, which were distributed along the Greater Khingan Range, Helan mountain, Yinshan, Kunlun Mountains Line West North, were the same with that in Wuhai city, and concluded the capital tree in Wuhai city as well as the vital tree in each types of gree, respectively.The study also found Wuhai landscaping questions: less use of native trees, single form of green, accessory and residential greenbelt landscaping weak. We should strengthen the native plants and the domestication of wild species, to try and promote green roofs, vertical green variety of green forms, pay attention to accessory and residential greenbelt landscaping, in addition to doing the work in the early plant configuration, but also at a later stage ongoing management and maintenance.
