Soil moisture(soil water content), no matter in the global ecological system or in the modern agriculture also plays an important role in both, being able to accurately measure and predict soil moisture is very important. Since the 1990 s, the gradual development of GNSS-R(GNSS- Reflections) technology based on the Global Navigation Satellite System(Global Navigation Satellite System, GNSS), has quickly become one of hotspots in the field of Navigation and remote sensing. The ultimate purpose of the study is to monitor a wide range of soil moisture and prevent natural disasters. Further study of the principle of experiment to find all the factors affected the accuracy of inversion, and then develop a practical, convenient and fast with the function of real time data processing and playback software has a great significance for the actual measurement.On the basis of reviewing the research status of GNSS- R technology at home and abroad, this paper is expounded the development of the technology, the research background, the concept of soil moisture and traditional measurement method systematically, which fully shows the advantage and the development prospect of GNSS-R technology.After analyzed the principle of the GNSS-R technology which is applied to measure the moisture in the surface soil systematically, a clear inverse thinking have been established, the inversion process have been simplified, the various factors which affect the measurements accuracy of triangulation also have been analyzed, and the corresponding improvement method have been put forward in view of these factors.Soil moisture measurement experiment was carried out at the same time, collected a large number of GNSS- R data in related power value, inversed the data, on this condition the influence factors of specific fixed inversion algorithm with the improved method, the results show that this algorithm improves the inversion precision. An inversion software which suits the reflective surface with a certain roughness has been developed, and it can collects the data in real time, displays various parameters.
