Clostera anachoreta is a kind of important defoliators in forest. Poplar was planted estensively as crucial timber forest, protection forest and road green-ing trees in home and abroad. Due to various factors, such as single species, climate and environment, Clostera anachoreta was increasing year by year and tends to spread. Early research mainly focused on the development of population, life history and screening of control agents. While recent research has focused on two aspects, one is the resistance and safety evaluation of transgenic BT poplar, the other is to study theapplication technology and the effectiveness of prevention and control of natural enemies such as white muscardine fungi and parasitoids. But the impact of the nutritional status of the host site and host environments minerals cycle on development and reproduction of Clostera anachoretas are still unknown. From the perspective of nutritional ecology, hypothesis that "nutrition circulation disorder of poplar forest ecosystem caused Clostera anachoreta disaster", determine and analyze the content of mineral elements of poplar rhizosphere soil of different ages and poplar tissues(TN, TP, TK, TCa, TMg,)TZn, TMn, TFe)in the surrounding area of Jingzhou. And raising Clostera anachoreta larvas by leaves of different leaf positions and poplars at different ages, observed the changes about the fitness of growth and reproduction of Clostera anachoreta under different feeding conditions, clearly analyze the effect of foodstuffs and host plant nutrition substances in the environment site on development and reproduction of Clostera anachoreta. The main results are as follows:1 The relationship between mineral storage of soil and mineral nutrition of plantsCollecting soil, root bark, stem bark, branches skin and leaves of different ages poplars in Jingzhou (Bailong Village, New Garden Village-the river bank side), Shashi District (gong Township, tombs village, Dang Guanyin village), Qianjiang City (Chai Village, ho mouth Village, South Village) that measured TN, TP, TK, TCa, TMg, TZn, TMn, TFe content, soluble sugar content in leaves, soil nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium and organic matter content of poplar rhizosphere soil 30cm,60cm of soil, roots, bark, and branches respectively. We found that:1) TMg, TFe, TMn, TZn of soil were significantly higher than the plant; TN content in plants was significantly higher than the soil and roots with the highest content of TN; TP and TK of soil were higher than plants; TCa content of the soil was above the root, but TCa content of the soil near equal to or slightly below the bark; 2) the distribution of minerals in plant organizations was regularity, the mobility element TN, TP content of the root is generally higher than the bark and twigs; TK, TMg, TFe, TMn, TZn showed no significant difference in plant tissues but sometimes TMg slightly lower than the roots;content of TK and TCa in the bark were higher than branches;3) TN, TCa, TMg, TFe, TMn, TZn showed no difference in poplar tissue mineral nutrition of different ages in the same area, but the TP, TK content of 3-year-old poplar tissue was significantly higher than the 5-year-old poplar organization^) mineral nutrient content of poplar tissue at he same age under different environments site is more complex, but the TN content in gong field area was significantly higher than that of Guanyin Dang, New Garden, the project area. TK content of Xinyuan Poplar organization is generally significantly higher than that of Chaihe, engineering, gongs field area, TCa content was significantly higher than TCa content in tombs area. TP content in Chaihe area was significantly higher than that of tombs area.2 Effects of leaves of different leaf positions on the development and reproduction of Clostera anachoretaRearing newly hatched larvas to pupation by the lth,3th,5th,7th leaf position of 1 year old poplar branches. The result showed that leaves of different leaf position had made no significant differences to the developmental duration of larvae(25℃,14d),pupa duration(6d), and pre-oviposition period(17d) of clostera anachoreta. But it had significant effect on survival curve, pupal mass and egg number per feamale. And larvas reared with the leaves of 3th leaf position showed the higher survival rate, smaller pupa weight and smaller fecundity.3 Effects of poplar leaves at different ages on the development and reproduction of Clostera anachoretaRearing the 4th generation larvas of clostera anachoreta by the leaves of 1 year old,10 year old and 30 year old poplars,The result indicated that poplar leaves of different ages had significant difference on their growth. The older poplars are, the shorter developmental duration of clostera anachoreta larvas will be, and the worse the quality of pupation will be. However, the age of poplar tree had no significant effect on its eclosion rate and egg number per female.
