| Salix psammophila is one of the plant species endemic to the northwest China, which plays a key role on the protection and environmental improvement for the fragile ecological ring of northwest china. This research, targeted on all the Salix psammophila clones selected from the National Clonal Germplasm Repository, emphasized on the comparisons on the seed quality and seed vitality of all the Salix psammophila clones, to get the following conclusions:1. as for the individual Salix psammophila clone selected from the National Clonal Germplasm Repository, the selected seeds weighted between 0.090 g and 0.130 g, thus being considered as good-quality and well-developed. However, the germination rates were low (generally below 10%), with the germination index under 2.99, and the seedling average length was between 2-3 cm, thus made the seed vigor index below 10.00.2. as for the comparisons on the performances at all the planting areas for the Salix psammophila clones selected from the National Clonal Germplasm Repository, the seeds selected demonstrated the similar results on Thousand Kernel Weight for all the planting areas, of which the area 15 and area 5 showed the best Thousand Kernel Weight, while the area 4 showed the worst. The germination rates were considerably low, with the similar germination index and seed vigor index, of which the area 2 having relatively high germination index and seed vigor index. |
