The Study Of Acute Renal Failure In Canine By Ultrasonic Diagnosis | | Posted on:2016-04-01 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:W C Li | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2283330464963845 | Subject:Clinical Veterinary Medicine | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The purpose of this study was to assess the value of ultrasonic diagnosis in detection of acute renal failure in ARF modle and clinical cases.The model of ARF was established in 8 dogs by intramuscular injection of 50% glycerin(10ml/kg).The type B ultrasoundã€doppler ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound were performed for the left kidneys before injection and 6 hoursã€24 hours after injection.The blood serum creatinine(CREA) and the blood serum urea nitrogen(BUN) were tested before the ultrasound examination.Histopathological examination was performed 6 hours and 24 hours after the injection of glycerin.No significant difference was found in renal length and width before and after model establishment.No significant difference was found in resistance index(RI) 6 hours after model establishment.The value of resistance index(RI) 24 hours after model establishment was significantly higher than those before model establishment.The value of area under the curve(AUC) and time to peak intensity(TTP) before model establishment were significantly lower than those 6 hours and 24 hours after model establishment.No significant difference was found in arrival time(AT) of renal cortex before and after model establishment.The value of the blood serum creatinine(CREA) 6hours after model establishment was significantly higher than those before model establishment.No significant difference was found in blood urea nitrogen(BUN) 6 hours after model establishment.The value of the blood serum creatinine(CREA) and the blood urea nitrogen(BUN) 24 hours after model establishment was significantly higher than those before model establishment.No significant change was observed in histopathological examination 6 hours after model establishment.But 24 hours after the injection of glycerin,typical pathological tubule necrosis can be seen.8 cases with acute renal failure were collected from clinical practice, and were evaluated by type B ultrasound and doppler ultrasound and then comparing with 8 healthy dogs.The length and width of kidney in case group was significantly higher than those in control group.The RI of dogs with acute renal failure was significantly higher than healthy dogs.The results show that contrast-enhanced ultrasound and doppler ultrasound shows remarkable difference at early stage of canine acute renal failure.They are sensitive method for early diagnosis of ARF. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Dog, Acute renal failure, Type B ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound, Contrast-enhanced ultrasound | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
