Seed melon collecting and de-seeding machine has become the domestic advancedmelon harvest machinery for combine harvesting, it can complete pickup, transportation andde-seeding at the same time. In other words,it is a brand-new tractor-type combineharvester.The machine is mainly composed of rack, land wheel, pickup apparatus,deseedingapparatus and access apparatus.When it worked,firstly pickup drum picked up melon,secondly combs of access device detached the melon and then sent the melon to the deseedingdevice, Lastly seeds were collected at the export.The machine can directly realize gettingseeds from melon by one-time.It adopted pickup tooth/pierced tooth to pick up melon,greatlyimproving the work efficiency and installed auxiliary collector at both sides of the drum tohelp pick up, greatly improving the pickup rate.The research firstly analyzed the development situation and existing problems ofmelon-chopping harvesting machines at home and abroad and designed a harvester bystudying the working principle of machines combining with the traditionalharvesters.Secondly, physical characteristics of melon-chopping were studied in this study.The research analyzed the stress of the connecting steel plates and simulated thedeformation process of contact surfaces and designed key parts of the harvester based ontheoretical basis with the computer.Thirdly, the research established3D solid model of themachine and key components, analyzed the stress and strain, checked the static strength andsafety factors, optimized the design parameters with virtual prototype technology.Lastly,theprototype of seed melon pickup and threshing combine was made and the experimental datasobtained were analyzed to find out optimal design parameters through field experiment.
