Perkinsus.sp, one of the most harmful protozoan parasites for molluscs around the world, exists in many coastal countries and regions of five continents, causing the mass mortality of cultured molluscs and seriously economic losses. Foreign study on Perkinsus.sp had been comparatively deep and systematic, while the research on Perkinsus.sp started relatively late in China, where Perkinsus.sp were found for the first time in Chlamys farrer, Patinopecten yessoensis, Haliotisdiscus hannai and Ruditapes philippinarum in1977. Between September2006and January2008,1150samples of oysters of various species were taken at74locations along China’s coastline, spreading the Bohai Sea、the east China sea、the Huanghai Sea and the south China sea. Test liquid thioglycolic acid salt medium and PCR were employed to test these samples. The result showed Perkinsus.sp were found in oysters in summer、autumn and winter. Perkinsus.sp infestation increases with temperature rise due to high temperature in summer and the highest prevalence reaches100%, while the lowest prevalence took place in autumn. Molecular biology method was used to identify the Perkinsus.sp. The result showed there were two different kinds of Perkinsus.sp, Perkinsus.olseni and Perkinsus.beihaisens, existing in oysters along China’s coastline. The experimental data in the article provide a basic reference for China’s further researches on parasites in mollusks.
