Rice bakanae disease is a common disease in rice planting area of Heilongjiang province.Especially in2013, rice bakanae outbroke in Heilongjiang resulting in a big threat to riceproduction. In this study, our objectives were to monitor sensitivity of different strains Fusariummoniforme to prochloraz; identify biological characteristics of these strains fungi; evaluatevirulence of these fungi strains; test biological activity of these fungi strains; conduct filed trialson their associated indices. Our total goal was to monitor resistance development of Fusariummoniliforme to prochloraz in Heilongjiang and provide basic information for scientificprevention and control measures on rice bakanae disease in the cold area.(1)In the32strains of Fusarium moniliforme Sheld tested, two strains (NH-1, JMS-1, EC50<0.01μg·mL-1) are the most sensitive strains to prochloraz, whose EC50average value is0.0036μg·mL-1that could be identified as sensitive baseline of Fusarium moniliforme onprochloraz in Heilongjiang province. Altogether, for the32bakanae disease strains collectedfrom Heilongjiang province, resistance frequency reached93.7%. Therefore, resistant strains arethe dominant strains of Fusarium moniforme in Heilongjiang province.(2)Comparison studies on the biological characteristics of resistant strain JMS-3and sensitivestrain NH-1indicated that changes of biological characteristics have taken place in the resistantstrains. Compared with the sensitive strains NH-1, hyphae growth rate decreased significantly;resistant strains prefer growth conditions of partial acid (pH=6); the optimum nitrogen sourcefor resistant strains is KNO3. Virulence experiment results showed that in eight resistant strains, plant height, leaf width and emergence rate should be considered as complex indices indetermining whether the AC-2is the virulent strain or not.(3)Biological activity test showed that EC50concentration of JS399-19’s is the minimum, virulent JS399-19has the best inhibition effect on the strain AC-2. Field efficacy test showedthat25%JS399-19suspending agent is safe for rice plant. When using5000times suspendingagent of25%JS399-19and seed coating agent, control effect of rice bakanae disease reachedabove99%. When using3000times suspending agent of25%JS399-19as seed treatments alone,100%control effect on rice bakanae disease was obtained. Therefore, this treatment could berecommended to prevent rice bakanae at a larger scale.
