Cotton top is an important part in cotton production process.However, topping cotton is the only partwhich does not realize automated production machinery in cotton production process, machinery for cottonXinjiang region in the process of topping hit or hit the drain work low efficiency, poor accuracy toppingproblem, according to the technical requirements of the cotton topping, combine wireless remote controltechnology, sensor technology, and automatic control technology,3MDZF-6-type vertical lift cotton basehit on the top of machine to STC89C52MAU as the core, the ultrasonic sensor to detect components,wireless remote control module for the power switch, designed a cotton topping automatic control system.(1)Determine the overall control system solutions. According to the design requirements andcombining the actual situation of the cotton production to determine a design that meets the requirementsof the application but also in the actual production of the research program.(2)Design cotton plant height automatic detection system. Using ultrasonic sensors for highly accuratemeasurement of cotton plants, the information passed to the MAU system, the microcontroller calculatesthe current processing algorithms based on cotton plant height, then the current cotton plant heightcompared with the given value to calculate the height that hydraulic topping to lift cylinder distance, MAUissued a directive to the solenoid valve drive hydraulic cylinders lift the completion of the process oftopping; according to vehicle speed and the speed of the hydraulic lift cylinder to determine the installationposition of the ultrasonic sensor.(3)Design hydraulic lift control system. Using proximity switches limit control of hydraulic cylinders,hydraulic cylinders achieved within the scope prescribed itinerary; through the hydraulic control systemanalysis, combined with the principle of automatic control technology, the hydraulic control systemmathematical model, and uses a PID algorithm the system was calibrated using MATLAB software for thesystem was simulated to obtain the optimal parameters of the system. Using a wireless remote controltechnology, sparring top power switch control, design a good anti-interference wireless remote controlsystem, the controls in the cab convenient topping machine start, stop, turn around three states.(4)Control system performance tests and field trials topping. The control system integration,performance tests were carried out noise performance test and ultrasonic ranging module wireless remotecontrol module, the results show good performance of the two modules to meet the system requirements;finally produced a prototype, the design of the control system installed on the prototype, and conductedfield trials, field trials show that the control system can be completed topping operations, topping rate canreach76.2%~89.7%.
