Photinia serrulata excellent ornamental plant, which sprout easely and is cutting, and is planted widely in parks, units and residential areas, both sides of the roads. It is attacked by greymould fungus and its leaves andshoot are often infected, resulting in poor growth and loss of ornamental value. In this study, pathogen causing grey mould on P. serrulata was identified Botryti scinerea by morphology and molecular data. Pathgenic rDNA-ITS Sequence was identical Botryotinia fuckeliana Whetzelin GenBankwith with100%homogeneity. Themycelium growth ranged from5to30℃and their optimal temperature was at about20℃but the optimum temperature for spore formation was found to be about15℃.Light or the darkness had not significant effect on the mycelium growth. The degree of disease severity was related to temperature and humidity in the fieldsin the late March and early April but not rainfall. However, it also wad related the planting density.Lwo disease occured on a density with50×50cm, comparing15cm×15cm,30cm×30cm and40cm x40cm. In practice, planting density with40×40cm was considered be the reasonable level from aspect of economic efficiency. Some fungicides may be used for controlling the grey mould, including10%difenoconazole, then40%pyrimethamil,50%iprodione,50%procymidone, and95%hymexaxzo etc.The best growing season for the controlling the disease is early April. The efficiency will be as expected when controlling one time at early April with low disease or three times for continuous control per10day from the early Aprilto late April withseverous disease occurrence.
