Forest volume is an important attribute of forest resources, is an importantsymbol of forest biomass and carbon sequestration, is an important content of forestresource monitoring. Based on the remote sensing technology on forest resource,especially forest volume monitoring, giving full play to its macroscopic, fast, timesaving, labor saving and other advantages, has very important significance and greatpotential. The purpose of this study is to timely, accurately grasp the trend of thecurrent situation and dynamic changes of forest resources, dynamic monitoring offorest resources to achieve, especially to provide monitoring volume scientific meansfor the forest. Research in April8,2011and October17,2011two when four TMremote sensing image, phase1:50000topographic map and forest resources, a class oftwo kinds of survey data based on data; administrative region of Ji’nan as the range toERDAS; IMAGINE, ENVI remote sensing software, geographical informationsystem ARCGIS software, SPSS statistical analysis software as a tool; with theremote sensing technology as the foundation, TM image preprocessing, remotesensing variables extraction, forest types, vegetation index extraction, extraction offorest volume by remote sensing monitoring; geographic information systemtechnology for auxiliary, vector data acquisition, processing, use GIS space method toextract the slope, terrain factor analysis; by using global positioning navigationtechnology as a supplement, ground investigation field point; the mathematicalstatistics as the theory, using the regression analysis method, all kinds of factoraccumulation of remote sensing monitoring analysis of the effects of forest, using themulticollinearity diagnosis, the method of principal component analysis to modelvariable selection, using the least square method of stepwise regression model, usingthe classification error matrix precision evaluation. The average accuracy of themonitoring research of the forest stock volume of81.50%, reached the "Regulations"the main technology of forest resources planning and design investigation of B gradestandard, can be used as a county-level administrative units of two kinds of forestresources survey of regional volume using the statistical data, but the coefficient ofvariation is big, the monitoring results can not be implemented to class. This paper is divided into five parts, each part of the main contents can besummarized as follows.The first part, expounds the purpose and significance of research, introduces theresearch status at home and abroad, describes the research contents and methods.The second part of the study area--, natural, economic and forestry production inJi’nan city briefly.The third part of the paper is to collect the required data and pretreatment.The fourth part, according to the collected data, the establishment of Ji’nan cityforest volume monitoring model, carried out the forest volume monitoring andprecision analysis.The fifth part, on the results of this study are discussed, and the futuredevelopment prospects.
