| Eperythrozoonosis has been discovered worldwide and caused tremendous economic losses to the swine industry. At present, the prevention and control of this disease primarily depend on western medicine. However, the use of these medicine for Eperythrozoonosis results in some clinical disadvantages, such as the irregularity of the medicine effectiveness and the high possibility occurrence of medicine resistance, etc. Therefore, it is necessary that the compound Chinese herbal medicine which are more efficient in the prevention and control of the M.suis infection is developed. In this research, three compound Chinese herbal medicine were added to the basal ration, which were fed to the piglets infected M.suis. The prophylactic effects of these medicines was detected.50 clinical healthy,35 day-old piglets with natural infection of Msuis from a certain swine industry in Shanxi province, which were confirmed by microscopic examinations and PCR, were used in this experiment. The piglets were randomly allotted to 5 groups with 10 each, and all the groups were fed separately. The basal diet mixed with compound Chinese herbal medicine â… , â…¡, and â…¢ respectively were fed to the piglets for seven days of three groups; the basal diet mixed with deoxytetracycline were fed to one group piglets; the control group was fed basal diet without any medicine. Blood samples of piglets were collected by the anterior vena before and after the usage of medicine at 10d,20d and 30d. The copies of M.suis in blood, erythrocyte superoxide dismutase, erythrocyte membrane ATPase (Na+K+-ATPase, Ca2+Mg2+-ATPase), lymphocyte proliferation rate (T, B), and the serum content of IgG were measured. The results showed that, (1) the compound Chinese herbal medicine â… could significantly decrease the copies of Msuis in blood, recover the functions of damaged erythrocyte, and improve the organism immunity function; (2) the compound Chinese herbal medicine â…¡ could not effectively reduce the M.suis copies, but it has positive effects on the erythrocyte function and the organism immunity; (3) the compound Chinese medicine â…¢ could reduce the M.suis copies in blood, whereas it could only improve the activity of erythrocyte superoxide dismutase, and no significant effect on the other indexes. These results suggested that the compound Chinese medicine I has favorable prophylactic effects on the M.suis infection. |
