Yunnan Province is one of China’s big 4 Mountains forest regions with richly diversified forest resources, of which forestry land accounts for 60% in terms of total area while forest coverage ratio amounts upto around 50%. It ascended as the world’s top forest regions with largest concentration and highest complexity of biodiversity, as well as the invaluable gene pool of various species in such green treasure. Therefore, Yunnan Province holds the pivotal position in the overall development of China’s forestry construction. Due to many reasons such as historical, or natural factors, location and so on, Yunnan experienced so frequent and hard hit from forest fires that in some years it even suffered more than half of the total fire number of the entire country:2006 "3 ? 29" Anning Thermal Spring Town forest fires;2012 "3 ? 28" Kunming Jinning County forest fires; 2013 "4 ? 24" Yunnan Chuxionglu Fengqin Feng Town forest fires;2014 "5 ? 21 " Kunming Anning Lubiao forest fires,The enormous loss and negative impact caused by these disasters have aroused widespread concern from the Party Central Committee, the State Council and Central Military Commission, as well as various circles of society. In recent years, severe drought brought further grimness to Yunnan- under drastically reduced rainfall, frequent forest fires lurks with high potential. In such circumstances, research on fast and efficient forest fire suppression methods is with vital and practical significance, as well as strategic importance on minimizing loss on forest resources, strengthening the construction of ecological civilization, and maintaining ecological balance in China. This article analyzed from important factors affecting forest fires, including geography, climate, resources, social environment, etc., profoundly studied the basic characteristics and regular patters of forest fire development, and concluded the "Four categories with 18 types of basic forest firefighting tactics" applying to Yunnan Moutain Forest based on collection of typical wars the armed forces executed and conducted through in-depth on-site research. Together with theoretical systems combining regular unit, pump unit, special vehicles unit and helicopter unit, the article is equiped with multidimensional practicability. In the meanwhile, the article is embeded with below highlights:1) listed t he tactic research into the mid-long term develop planning of national fire prevention; 2) established the concept of "Integrated Tactics"; 3) Stick to the latest theory and equi pment research;4) aimed at the world’s edging aviation fire prevention theory; 5) Studie d data-based analysis, decision making, operating mechanism, and information flow enh ancement; 6) absorbed from oversea advanced experience to inject more dynamic energ y into the theory.
