Rice is one of China’s three major food crops. The global warming trend exacerbated in recent years, and high temperature stress is one of the main meteorological disasters affecting rice production. We can get a quantitative description from the mechanism of the relationship of crop growth process and environmental factors through a crop model to assess the influence of meteorological dasasters in agriculture timely and accurately. It has important practical significance to the disaster prevention and mitigation. This research localized WOFOST corresponding model parameters, and simulated the impact of different degrees of high temperature stress in different development stages on the growth and production of rice. The main results in the article would be presented and following:The WOFOST model was used to simulate rice growth period and yield with the meteorological data of Xuzhou, Ganyu, Huaiyin, and the measured values and simulated values fit well. So the model has good simulation capacity in terms of time and space.High tempereture stress in different growth stages of rice will affect the rice photosynthetic rate and respiration rate, so as to influence the rice growing period and yield. With the strength and duration of high temperature stress increased, the rice growing period shortened, and the yield also presents the varying degree reduction. On the whole, the flowering stage is the most sensitive to high temperature, followed by booting stage, jointing stage minimum, and the effect of a plurality of growing period suffering high temperature stress at the same time is more serious than a single growing period. With the high temperature stress strength and duration increased, yield loss of rice also gradually increased. The analysis of rice yield changes of 13 sites in Jiangsu Province shows that the rice in Sheyang region is more sensitive to high temperature, and Lvsi is less. It may be related to local meteorological environment. The effection of high temperature stress on growth of rice showed that when the temperature was too high, the transpiration rate and respiration rate were higher than the standard value, and the gross assimilation rate and dry matter increase rate reduced, and the leaf area index (LAI) and living storage organs decayed.
