This experiment was conducted to determine the co-induced effects of Molybdenum and Cadmium on the expression of Heat Shock Proteins mRNA in duck kidney, liver, spleen, testicle and ovary. 360(♂180+♀180)of 11-day-old sheldrakes were selected and divided into six groups randomly, each with sixty sheldrakes, respectively, control group, low-dose molybdenum group(Mo 15mg/kg), high-dose group(Mo 100mg/kg), cadmium group(Cd 4mg/kg), low-dose molybdenum combined with cadmium group(Mo 15mg/kg+Cd 4mg/kg), high-dose molybdenum combined with cadmium group(Mo 100mg/kg+Cd4mg/kg); The control group fed based diet, the experimental group fed with based diet that added with molybdenum or cadmium or molybdenum and cadmium accordingly.(NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O was the molybdenum source and 3Cd SO4·8H2O was the cadmium source. The period of test is 120 days. In test of 30 days, 60 days and 90 days, 120 days were dissected 10 sheldrakes of every group, and obtained the kidney, liver, spleen, testicle and ovary of the sheldrakes to detect the expression level of HSP(HSP60,70,90) mRNA by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR The results were as follows.1.Compared with control, the expression of HSP mRNA had an increased trend in all organizations treatment groups, and the difference was significant(P<0.01).2.Compared with Molybdenum or Cadmium groups, the expression of HSP(HSP60,70,90) mRNA had an increased in trend in all organizations in Molybdenum combined with Cadmium groups, and the difference was significant(P<0.01).3.Compared with Molybdenum or Cadmium groups, the expression of HSP(HSP60,70,90) mRNA had an reduced in trend in sectional organizations in Molybdenum combined with Cadmium groups during the later period of the experiment, and the difference was significant(P<0.01).Conclusions: Molybdenum combined with cadmium could increase the expression of Hsps mRNA in tissues of the sheldrakes; The expression of heat shock protein has tissue specificity; when molybdenum and cadmium stimulate the body generate stress effect, molybdenum and cadmium represented synergistic effect.
