In the paper, Sedum aizoon、Sedum emarginatum、Sedum sarmentosum and Sedum yvesii were chosen as the experimental materials, then using the artifical climate box to set up five different light levels. Under the light stress,the plant morphological,leaf water content, relative chlorophyll content, relative permeability of plasma membrane and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of four Sedum were determinated and analysied, and do the apply test in the field.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Morphological characteristics:With increasing the degree of shade and strong light, four kinds of Sedum plants’leaf area and leaf number were decreased,the degree of light stress influnced four Sedum’s height form big to small was:Sedum aizoon> Sedum yvesii>Sedum emarginatum>Sedum sarmentosum.(2)The leaf relative water content:With increasing the degree of shade,the leaf relative water content of S. yvesii leaves was decreased, the leaf relative water content of another three Sedum leaves was increased. With increasing the degree of strong light, the leaf relative water content of S. yvesii leaves was decreased significantly, the leaf relative water content of S. emarginatum leaves was increased a little, other two Sedum did not change.(3)The relative chlorophyll content:With increasing the degree of shade, the relative chlorophyll content of S. aizoon and S. emarginatum was decreased gradually, the relative chlorophyll content of another three Sedum was first increased and then decreased. With increasing the degree of strong light,the relative chlorophyll content of S. aizoon was no significant difference, the relative chlorophyll content of S. yvesii was decreased, another two Sedum’s relative chlorophyll content was increase overall.(4)The relative membrane permeability:With increasing the degree of shade, the relative membrane permeability of four kinds of Sedum was increased overall. With increasing the degree of strong light,the relative permeability of S. aizoon was decreased gradually, the relative permeability of S. emarginatum was increased overall, the relative permeability of S. sarmentosum and S. yvesii was first increases and then decreased.(5)The chlorophyll fluorescence parameters:With increasing the degree of shade, the Fv/Fm of S. emarginatum was significantly smaller, the Fv/Fm of the remaining three Sedum did not change significantly; the Fv’/Fm’of S. aizoon、S. emarginatum and S. yvesii was increased overall, the Fv’/Fm’of S. sarmentosum Bunge was decreased; the Fo and ETR of four kinds of Sedum was decreased overall. With increasing the degree of strong light, the Fv/Fm of four kinds of Sedum did not change significantly; the Fv’/Fm’ of S. yvesii Hamet was increased, the Fv’/Fm’ of the remaining three Sedum was decreased;the Fo and ETR of S. sarmentosum was decreased, the Fo of S. aizoon was decreased, the ETR of S. aizoon was increased,the Fo of S. emarginatum and S. yvesii was increased, the ETR of S. emarginatum and S. yvesii was decreased.(6)The shade-tolerance of plants from strong to weak is in following order:S. aizoon >S. yvesii>S. sarmentosum>S. emarginatum.The strong light-tolerance of plants from strong to weak is in following order:S. aizoon>S. sarmentosum>S. yvesii>S. emarginatum.(7)The application tests showed that S. aizoon, S. sarmentosum、S. yvesii can be applied on the roof、wall and tree shade, S. emarginatum only can be applied under the tree shade, four Sedum can be applied on the window sill.
