Heliothis viriplaca Hufnagel(Noctuidae, Lepidoptera) was one kind of major pests of soybean and distributed in Northeast of China widely, which fed soybean leaves and pods. The contents of nutrients(soluble sugar and protein)、defensive protein(trypsin inhibitor and chymotrypsin inhibitor)、isoflavone(daidzein、glycitein and genistein)of 15 varieties of soybean materials were measured,and also the effects of 15 varieties of soybean on feeding amount and larval development duration of Heliothis viriplaca on different soybeans were studied. The correlations between larval developmental duration, feeding areas and the contents of nutrients, defensive protein and isoflavone of soybean leaves were analyzed. In addition, the effects of different varieties of soybeans to Heliothis viriplaca adult oviposition choice and larvae feeding choice were researched in artificial networks in field. The comprehensive resistance of different varieties soybean were studied suing principal component analysis. The results were as follows: 1. The developmental duration and feeding amount of Heliothis viriplacaThe pupa and whole larval developmental duration that fed on the different varieties soybean were longest on Jiyu 67(13.89d), Changnong 16(18.02d) and shortest on 9054(11.63d), Jinong48(15.23d). The 3 days weight of pupa that fed on different soybean were largest on Jinong55(0.251g) and least on 99115(0.221g), but there were no significant differences between them. The most feeding areas of larvae were 9080(119.457cm2) and the least were Jifeng 2(65.18cm2). 2. The contents of chemicals in different varieties soybean leaves9066 had the highest content of soluble sugar(3.601mg/g) while the highest content of soluble protein is 99115(1.289mg/g). The lowest content soluble sugar and protein was respectively the Changnong 17(3.351mg/g) and 9066(0.921mg/g). 9047 had the highest activity of trypsin inhibitor(507.031U/g) while the highest activity of chymotrypsin inhibitor is 9066(95.913U/g). The lowest activity of trypsin inhibitor and chymotrypsin inhibitor was respectively Jifeng 2(140.347U/g) and 9047(48.088U/g). For contents of isoflavone, the highest contents of daidzein、glycitein and genistein were respectively Jinong55(3.37mg/g), Jifeng2(7.00mg/g) and Jinong55(4.74mg/g), while the lowest contents were respectively 9047(0.11mg/g), Changnong17(1.30mg/g) and 9080(0.199mg/g). 3. Correlation between chemicals of different varieties soybean leaves to larval duration and feeding areaThe change of contents of nutrients, defense protein, isoflavone can significantly influence the larval duration and feeding amount. Correlation analysis showed that there was a negative relationship between the larvae and pupa developmental time, and also the pupa weight of 3 days, and the soluble sugar content, as well as the content of soluble protein, but the relationship between larvae feeding and the soluble protein was positive.There were positive relationships between the duration of larvae and feeding and the activity of trypsin inhibitor, as well as the relationship between the pupa and larvae duration and the activity of chymotrypsin inhibitor. Moreover, the correlation between pupa duration and weight of 3 days was significant.The relationships between larval duration and feeding amount and the content of daidzein were negative, but there were positive correlations between 3 days weight of pupa and the content of daidzein. The correlations between pupa developmental duration and the content of glycitein and genistein were all positive, while there were negative correlations between them and larvae duration, feeding amount and pupa weights of 3 days. 4. The effects of different soybeans on adult oviposition choice and larvae feeding choice of alfalfa mothThe adult of alfalfa moth spawning the most soybean species were Jinong48 and Jiyu69 average 3.67, while the least species were 9080 that no eggs were detected on it. The larvae favor to choose Jinong55 and 9054 to feeding, after 6 days of inoculating there were accounting for a cumulative total 13.5 larvaes on them, but the least were on Jiyu67 was just 5 that less than half of the most.5. The resistance of chemicals of different soybeans to Heliothis viriplacaThe content of soluble sugar and protein, as well as the activity of PI had the largest influence to the resistance of Heliothis viriplaca, which contribution rate came to 77.33%.
