| Canine distemper(CD) caused by Canine distemper Virus(CDV), and Canine parvovirus disease caused by Canine parvovirus(CPV). In recent years, the incidence of CD and CPV disease is higher in korla, accounting for 73.02%(9522 from 13040)of the local dogs disease. The epidemiology of CD and CPV disease in korla is unclear, which affected prevention and diagnosis of the two diseases. This study will survey epidemiology of the two diseases, give the effective prevention and treatment method by investigation and analysis. Investigation and research results are as follows:1. Epidemiological investigation: Surveyed epidemiology of the two diseases in ten pet hospital of korla from July 2011 to July 2014 by asking and refering to prescription. The results of epidemiological investigation: In Korla City, CDV mainly infects younger dogs from 30 days old to 240 days old.And CPV mainly infects the dogs under 1 year old, especially between 30 and 90 days old. The two diseases have occurred throughout the year, the incidence of purebred dogs is the highest, soil dogs is the lowest, males are more incidence than females(P < 0.01), unvaccinated dogs are more incidence than immune. The incidence of CD was peaked in November, and decreased in December and January, rebound betwee February and April, than decreased between May and July again. The incidence of CPV disease was serious between November and next May. The two diseases all are not periodic. CDV and CPV are usually from sick dogs to healthy dogs, or from the dogs of rehabilitation to healthy dogs. In Korla city, CD which was no neurological symptoms and CPV disease which was acute hemorrhagic enteritis are more serious, it was 82.88%(3810 from 4597) and 85.99%(4235 from 4925)respectively.2. Detected of CDV and CPV by PCR method, and observed of diagnostic and therapeutic effect: The two samples of CD which had clinical symptoms and were found weakly positive by anigen rapid CDV Ag test kit tested by RT-PCR method, then they were found positive. The nine samples of CPV disease which had clinical symptoms and were found weakly positive by anigen rapid CPV Ag test kit tested by PCR method, then they were found positive. After 160 dogs were diagnosed by clinic and anigen rapid test kit,80 dogs with CDV were divided into four groups and treated with four methods, and the other 80 dogs with CPV were divided into four groups and treated with four methods. Results: For CD with no neurological symptoms, it was good effect to treat with CDV monoclonal antibody or antiviral serum combining with symptomatic therapy, and control bacterial infection with Chinese and western medicine combined. The measures can cause the cure rate to 85%(17 from 20). For CPV disease with acute hemorrhagic enteritis, it was good effect to treat with high-dose of canine parvovirus disease immune serum or CPV monoclonal antibody early, enema with Potassium Permanganate or traditional Chinese medicine, Symptomatic treatment, large infusion, regulate body ion balance, and control bacterial infection with Chinese and western medicine combined. The measures can cause the cure rate to 75%(15 from 20).3. Prevention test: This test was done with three neighboring cells and 48 dogs. The results: Prevent with strengthen the management, pay special attention to the vaccination, do a good job of the sanitation and disinfection, reduce the number of dogs contact each other, avoid bad weather on the stress of the dog.The measures can decrease the incidence of CD and CPV disease to 15.38% and 7.69% respectively. The results will offer scientific basis for control and prevent CD and CPV disease. |
