Potassium is one of the important elements affecting the quality of tobacco, which is concerned with the growth and development, resistance and leaf quality of tobacco plants.Low Potassium content has been plagued production of tobacco, became one of the main limiting factors on improving the quality further.This paper had analysised content of soil potassium and leaf potassium in Wenshan Yunnan, explored the relationship between content of potassium of flue cured tobacco leaf and soil nutrients, altitude, and according to possible reasons for the low the content of potassium of tobacco in Wenshan, the effects of potassium fertilization methods and foliar potassium fertilizer on content of potassium of flue cured tobacco leaf, economic traits and quality in Wenshan, there are main conclusions are as follows:1. The content total K and effective potassium has been lack, uneven distribution in tobacco planting soi in Wenshan, there have been significant differences between the counties. Analysised content of potassium of flue cured tobacco leaf showed that, the content of potassium of B2F, C3F and X2F tobacco have been lower, in addition to X2F tobacco Malipo, the content of potassium of B2F, C3F X2F tobacco in other county were lower than 2%, there were significant differences between content potassium of B2F tobacco leaves counties. Content of potassium of flue cured tobacco leaf has been closely related to the total potassium with soil total nitrogen, related to available phosphorus, and certain related to soil nitrogen, exchangeable magnesium, zinc efficient and effective boron. And soil pH, available potassium, organic matter, total phosphorus, water soluble chloride, exchangeable calcium and elevation of the correlation was not significant.2. It was not significant differences about tobacco growth period, leaf number and leaf width on different potassium fertilization rates and frequency. Increasing the proportion of potash fertilizer and frequency could significantly increase the stem girth of tobacco, increase the value of tobacco leaf economic traits, average price, the proportion of superior quality tobacco, improve the appearance of quality tobacco color, structure and identity, improve content of potassium of B2F, C3F and X2F tobacco, reduce content of nicotine, total nitrogen and nitrogen nicotine of B2F tobacco, increase content of total sugar and reducing sugar, improve content of aroma substance of B2F and C3F tobacco Effectively. The effect of the treatment to potash-based ratio of 5:5 and 3 times applying was the best. The effects of Potash-based ratio of 5:5 and 2 times applying, was better.3. Spraying potassium could improve significantly appearance quality of B2F and C3F tobacco, improve significantly production value, average price and the proportion of medium and superior tobacco, improve effectively content of potassium of the B2F, C3F and X2F tobacco, improve the content of neutral aroma substance of B2F and C3F tobacco. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the results, the effect spraying "Lion Red Horse" foliar potash was the best. The effect of spraying "potassium Rich Million" foliar potash was better.
