Agricultural remote sensing technique can rapidly and accurately collect agricultural resources and agricultural production information,has wide coverage,detection of short cycle,high practicality,low cost,is currently the most effective agricultural information acquisition method.Study on remotesensing monitoring around the rice planting area,yield of agricultural information,we have made remarkable achievements in the mechanism,technical methods and application and so on,but in the mechanism,technical methods and application and so on,but in the classification model and algorithm,estimation model and further improve monitoring precision also need indepth study.This study based on the SPOT5 satellie remote sensing data as the main data source,combined with the phonological characteristics of rice in Hunan province,the analysis of spectral characteristics of rice growth,change,selected typical main producing areas to carry out a pilot study of rice planting area in information extraction,to seek the scientific classification method of extracting effective implementation,extract large scale rice planting area.The main results are as follows:The study on distribution,phonological calendar and rice remote sensing monitoring division support in the history of planting rice in Hunan province,the SPOT5 satellite remote sensing data using the typical study area of rice growth period,using unsupervised classification method combining with the ground sample,supplemented by visual interpretation method in the study area was extracted fromrice planting area,finally using high resolution QUICKBIRD satellite image and planting area of rice in the study area of statistical data on the extraction result of precision test.The results show that,the city of Zhuzhou(Tianyuan distric,Hetang distric,Lusong distric.Shifeng distric)the overall accuracy is 95.18%,extraction accuracy is 95.58%;Xiangxin county,the overall accuracy is 95.42%,extraction accuracy is 96.21%.Therefore,based on SPOT5 satellite images of the rice planting area extraction method is feasible.
