The Research On Carbon Storage Of 5 Kinds Of Major Forest Types In Sichuan Basin Hilly Region

The carbon storage, as an important parameter in the search of forest carbon sinks, forest material circulation and energy flow. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the forest carbon storage. In this article, the study is consisted of 15 pieces of standard land including five kinds of forest--Cypress forest, Masson pine forest, the Pine and Cypress mixed forest, Alder and cypress mixed plantation, oak and cypress mixed plantation (the first two belong to plantation while the latter three are natural secondary forest) in Double Dragon Town, Langzhong city, Sichuan province. This article mainly analyze 5 kinds of forest ecosystem biomass and carbon storage and its spatial distribution by analyzing the data of 15 sample plots and 30 standard trees, which aims at accurately evaluating the carbon content of five different forests, providing a theoretical basis for the silvicultural measures which aims at enhancing carbon sink forest. The main research results are as following:(1)Tree layer biomass of different forest types:the 12-year-old Cypress forest(Cupressus funebris) was 38.36t-hm"2; the 12-year-old Masson pine forest(Pinus massoniana)was 49.94t·hm-2; the 14-year-old Masson pine (Pinus massoniona) and Cypress(Cupressus funebris) mixed-forests was 64.69t·hm-2; the 12-year-old Alder(Alnus cremastogyne) and Cypress(Cupressus funebris) mixed-forests was 38.03t·hm-2; the 12-year-old Oak (Cyclobalanopsis glauca(Thunb.) Oerst.) and Cypress(Cupressus funebris) mixed-forests was 39.59t·hm-2. The aboveground biomass of the tree layer accounted for a larger proportion-more than 85%; the trunk accounted for the largest in all organs and more than 54%. Compered with the trunk, branch, leaf and root owns a smaller percentage in all organs, which is in line with the pattern that trunk biomass owns the highest proportions in various organs.(2)The biomass in shrub layer and herbage layer under 5 different stands was respectively 1614.93kg·hm-2,2520.25kg·hm-2,297.71kg·hm-2,2305.25kg·hm-2,1116.53 kg·hm-2. From different levels, herb layer were obviously higher than the shrub layer. The biomass in litter layer was respectively2914.73kg·hm-2,1413.00kg·hm-2, 16301.57kg·hm-2,8679.70kg·hm-2,8644.33kg·hm-2; The mixed forest litter biomass was obviously higher than that of the pure forest. There is a certain rule in biomass of the five stands in Sichuan basin hilly region, the Masson pine and Cypress mixed-forests(81.29t·hm-2)>the Masson pine forest(53.87t·hm-2)>the Oak and Cypress mixed-forests(49.35t·hm-2)>the Alder and Cypress mixed-forest(49.01t·hm-2)>the Cypress forest(42.89t·hm-2).(3)The average carbon content rate of tree layer species respectively was:Cypress tree 51.55%,masson pine tree 52.06%, alder tree 49.62%,oak tree 48.56%; The different tree layer carbon stocks in the five stands was:the Masson pine and Cypress mixed-forests(33.29t·hm-2)>the Masson pine forest(25.59t·hm-2)>the Oak and Cypress mixed-forests(20.12t·hm-2)>the Cypress forest(19.98t·hm-2)>the Alder and Cypress mixed-forest(19.68t-hm-2); Carbon storage of tree layer accounted for more than 95% of vegetation carbon storage. The vegetation carbon storage in the five stands was:the Masson pine and Cypress mixed-forests(33.41t·hm-2)>the Masson pine forest(26.51t·hm-2)>the Cypress forest(20.63t·hm-2)>the Alder and Cypress mixed-forest(20.60t·hm-2)>the Oak and Cypress mixed-forests (20.57t·hm-2); The general rule is that carbon storage of litter layer was higher than the pure forest-the Masson pine and Cypress mixed-forests(7065.10 kg·hm-2) owns the highest, while the Masson pine forest(604.48 kg·hm-2) lowest, and the storage of the other 3 respectively were 2914.73kg·hm-2,3743.55 kg·hm-2,3740.40 kg·hm-2.(4) Soil organic carbon storage of Sichuan basin hilly region was respectively:the Cypress forest 62.53t·hm-2; the Masson pine forest 43.78t-hm"2; the Masson pine and Cypress mixed-forests 134.96t·hm-2; the Alder and Cypress mixed-forest 53.13t·hm-2; the Oak and Cypress mixed-forests 64.18t·hm-2.(5) In the hilly area, the relation of soil organic carbon storage, carbon storage in vegetation and litter layer carbon stocks of the other four stands appeared that soil organic carbon pool> vegetation carbon pools> litter carbon pool. The forest carbon stocks in the five stands respectively was:the Cypress forest 86.07t·hm-2, the Masson pine forest 71.07t·hm-2, the Masson pine and Cypress mixed-forests 184.67t·hm-2, the Alder and Cypress mixed-forest 82.41t·hm-2, the Oak and Cypress mixed-forests 93.39t·hm-2, the average carbon storage 103.52 t·hm-2.
