In this paper, two experiments were conducted to evaluate effect of acidifier and probiotics on the performance, egg quality, health and salmonella infection of laying hens. Provide more theoretical and practical data for efficient and safe production.Experiment 1:Effect of acidifier and probiotics on the performance,egg quality and health. A total of 600 50-wk-old laying hens were randomly allotted into 4 groups with 10 replicates (15 birds per replicate), group from 1 to 4,respectively. The 4 diets treatment were formulated:basic diet, basic diet+probiotics (300g/T), basic diet+acidifier (1:1000added in water), basic diet+probiotics (300g/T)+acidifier (1:1000added in water). The experiment period was 16 weeks. The egg quality was measured every 4 weeks. Sampling determination of physiological index at the end of 12 weeks.The results showed that there were no significantly (P>0.05) effects of diet treatment on hen laying rate (HLR), hen-housed laying rate (HHLR), F/G, cracked egg percent (CEP), egg quality, organ index, hemoglobin (HGB), reproductive organ superoxide dismutase (SOD), total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC). Dirty egg percent (DEP) was significantly (P <0.05) decreased by the acidifier, probiotics and the combinations of two. Average daily feed intake (ADFI) was significantly (P<0.05) increased by the combinations of two in a few weeks. White blood cell (WBC) was decreased and red blood cell (RBC) was increased significantly (P<0.05) by the add of the probiotics. The immunoglobulin G levels of probiotics group has more higher (P=0.061) trend than control group. The malondialdehyde (MDA) levels of oviduct magnum of group probiotics is significantly (P <0.05) higher than other three groups. The MDA levels of oviduct isthmus of control group is significantly (P<0.05) higher than acidifier group and combination group. Three experimental group have more primary follicles and secondary follicles. The oviduct of experimental group the epithelium thickened,fold more hypertrophic,the arrangement of tubular gland was more tight.Experiment 2:Effect of acidifier and probiotics on salmonella infection. At the end of the experiment 1, A total of 65 70-wk-old laying hens were randomly allotted into 4 groups. Experiment treatment and diet is the same as experiment 1.15 birds per group, The remaining laying hens was sampled before the experiment that eliminate the interference of the original Salmonella Enteritidis (SE). Take gentamicin in water three days before the experiment. Every bird oral 1ml SE enrichment broth (about 1.3×108cfu),sampling at day 7 and day 14, measured the haematological and serum biochemical indexes and the ratio of salmonella positive of oviduct.7 eggs per treatment were collected within 10-15 days for the ratio of salmonella positive of eggshell membrane and egg content.The results showed that there was no significantly effect of diet treatment on HGB, RBC, the ratio of salmonella positive egg at 7,14 days after salmonella challenge. The WBC levels of control group has more higher trend (P=0.073) than acidifier group at 14 days after salmonella challenge. The immunoglobulin G levels of probiotics group has more higher trend (P=0.073) than control group at 7 days after salmonella challenge, the ratio of salmonella positive oviduct was significantly decreased (P<0.05) by acidifier at 7 daysand markedly decreased (P<0.01) at 14 days. The salmonella positive ratio of acidifier group was significantly (P<0.05) less than probiotics group. There was no significantly (P>0.05) effect of diet treatment of probiotics group and combination group on the ratio of salmonella positive.In conclusion, Three experiment group induced the DEP significantly decreased, promoted intestinal tract health and more primary follicles and secondary follicles. The oviduct of experimental group the epithelium thickened, fold more hypertrophic, the arrangement of tubular gland was more tight. Dietary acidifier can improve the antioxidant status of reproductive organs, decreased the ratio of salmonella positive significantly. Dietary probiotics can improve immune status of reproductive organs. The combination of acidifier and probiotics can improve the antioxidant status of reproductive organs, promote the performance of laying hens.
