To solve the problems of poor travel capacity, poor Joint sealing performance, unreliable of automatic drain valve, Inadequate or excessive of aluminum alloy pipe thickness, low irrigation uniformity in roll wheel line move irrigator, a roll wheel line move irrigator was designed which is more reliable, has good economy, and has high irrigation uniformity. Research contents according to the research purpose of this article is divided into the following three parts:(1) Through reasonable structure design, accurate theoretical calculation, three dimensional simulation and finite element analysis method, parts which influence reliability of machine was designed, so as to improve irrigator working reliability. Include the following content:(1) Transmission scheme design, calculation power consumption, choose diesel engine power reasonable, ensure travle ability of roll wheel line move irrigator;(2)The finite element analysis was carried out on the frame, to ensure that the frame strength meet the working requirements;(3) Calculation automatic drain valve drainage and sealing process and three-dimensional numerical simulation, ensure reliability of the drain valve;(4) Design sprinkler leveler, stress analysis was carried out on the equilibrium process, make the sprinkler leveler always in vertical position, ensure the quality of irrigation;(5)Design wheels which have high strength and strong ability of grip the lground, to improve the travle ability of irrigator in the muddy ground.(2)By optimizing water pipe thickness, saving aluminum alloy material, reducing fuel consumption, improve the economic benefit of roll wheel line move irrigator, at the same time reduce maximum shear stress of the water pipe, improving the reliability of water pipe.(3) Hydraulic performance experiment of single sprinker head and numerical simulation are combined to compare hydraulic performance of a series of sprinkler heads, choose suitable sprinkler head for roll wheel line move irrigator, resolving the problem of the worse hydraulic performance radically; the method of quadratic regression orthogonal rotation center combined was applied with selected sprinkler head, to optimize the structure and working parameters which effect the hydraulic performance of irrigator, and obtain the change of the irrigation uniformity under different parameter combinations, finding out the optimum combination parameters, enhancing the irrigation uniformity further.The following main conclusions can be obtained:(1) the key components of roll wheel line move irrigator were designed, such as driving carriage, automatic drain valve, sprinkler leveler and wheels, Transmission scheme is determined, the finite element analysis was carried out on the frame, the drainage process of automatic drain valve are simulated, and calculating the key parameters of sprinkler leveler. Stress analysis was carried out on the water pipe, and using MATLAB software programming to optimize the thickness of water pipe. when installing 5 root water pipes whose thickness are 2.5mm, 10 root water pipes which thickness are 1.5mm, on both sides of the driving carriage, compared to the irrigator which water pipes’ thickness are 2.5mm all, saving aluminum alloy material by 11.24%, saving fuel consumption by 6%, the maximum shear stress decreases, and improving the economic benefit and travle ability of roll wheel line move irrigator.(2) Hydraulic performance experiment of single sprinker head and numerical simulation are combined to compare hydraulic performance of 9 kinds of sprinkler heads which are applicating popular both at home and abroad. Then choosing 8034 D type sprinkler head which for roll wheel line move irrigator, working performance is stable, linear combination and rectangular combination irrigation performance is great, can satisfy the special requirements of the roll wheel line move irrigator, resolving the problem of the worse hydraulic performance radically, also providing a valuable reference in the selection of sprinkler head for later sprinkler irrigation equipment. The method of quadratic regression orthogonal rotation center combined was applied for get a set of structure and working parameters which can improve the irrigation uniformity and irrigation efficiency effective:working pressure of 0.4 MPa, spray head spacing of 10 m, irrigator moving distance of 18 m, in this condition, irrigation uniformity is more than 90%.(3) A roll wheel line move irrigator was designed which is more reliable, has good economy, and has high irrigation uniformity. The field performance test result shows that the roll wheel line move irrigator has well travle ability, automatic drain valve and sprinkler leveler are reliably, water pipes’ pressure drop are very small,when irrigator moving forward, the maximum deflection of water pipe is 2.3 m, speed up to 19.8 m/s, irrigation uniformity is more than 90%.
