| Bast fiber seedlings film is one environmental-friendly product prepared from bast fiber and other plant fibres with biodegrable polymers. The field tests demonstrated that it had great effect on seedlings growth of machine-transplanted rice cultivation. It can improve the quality of seedlings, moreover, it can solve the scatted-seedlings problem existing widely in the process of rice seedlings transplanting using machine. Finally, it can enhance the yield of rice. In order to illuminate the mechanism of how bast fiber seedlings film works, two varieties were chosen in this stuudy, one conventional rice and the other hybrid rice, each variety included the treatment using film and no film as control. The physiological and morphological index of seedlings were investigated during the growth and development period of rice. Finally, the rice yield were estimatd. The results showed as follow:(1) Bast fiber seedlings film can promote the seedlings’ biomass. The underground biomass of MZ(Hybrid rice treat with bast fiber seedling film) treatment was 8.13% higher than WZ(Hybrid rice treated without bast fiber film) treatment; the underground biomass of MC(Conventional rice treated with bast fiber film) treatment was 8.6% higher than WC(Conventional rice treated with bast fiber film) treatment; the underground biomass of MZ treatment was 19.43 higher than the WZ treatment; the underground biomass of MC treatment was17.14% higher than the WC treatment. Compared with WZ treatment, MZ treatment can increase seedlings’ height by 5.6%. Compared with WC treatment, MC treatment can increase seedlings’ height by 8.4%. The leaf area of MZ treatment was 9.86% larger than WZ treatment, MC treatment was 4.79% larger than than WC treatment. The base stem width of seedlings of MZ treatment was 7.51% larger than WZ treatment, MC treatment was 5.34% larger than WC treatment.(2) Bast fiber seedlings film can enhance the chlorophyll content of seedlings. The MZ treatment was more than WZ treatment by 9.9%, MC treatment was more than WC treatment by 11.3%. Compared with control, the ratio of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b of bast fiber film treated could be increased, which was benefit for photosynthesis; the application of bast fiber film could significantly enhance the bleeding intensity of seedlings, MZ treatment was 32.25% higher than WZ treatment, MC treatment was 71.92% higher than WC treatment; the nitrate nitrogen of MZ treatment was more than WZ treatment by 7.7%, the nitrate nitrogen of MC treatment was more than WC treatment by 4.6%; the soluble sugar content of MZ treatment was more than WZ treatment by 21.1%, the soluble sugar content of MC treatment was more than WC treatment by 32.6%.(3) The respiratory metabolism of seedlings roots was improved by bast fiber seedlings film padded in trays. Compared with WZ treatment, the ADH viability of MZ treatment was higher by 11.66%, the ADH viability of MC treatment was 14.19% higher than that of WC treatment; the LDH viability of WZ treatment was 9.69% higher than that of MZ treatment, the LDH viability of WC treatment was 4.04% higher than that of MC treatment. Compared with the control, the aerobic respiratory was significantly enhanced, the MDH viability of MZ treatment was 12.59% higher than that of WZ treatment, the MDH viability of MC treatment was 14.76% higher than that of WC treatment.(4) Bast fiber film can reduce the numbers of scatted seedlngs.The scatted-seedlings of MZ treatment were less than WZ treatment by 4.7 knot in every 100 knots, the scatted-seedlings of MC treatment were less than WC treatment by 6.3 knot in every 100 knots, which could save more base seedlings. The tillers of MZ treatment was more than WZ treatment by 12.59%, the tillers of MC treatment was more than WC treatment by 10.88%.(5) Bast fiber film can improve rice yiled. There was significant positive correlation between rice yield and effective ears and grain numbers, the correlation index between rice yield and effective ears could be 0.7733, the correlation index between yield and grain numbers could be 0.7404. The effective ears of MZ treatment were 18.16% larger than that of WZ treatment, the effective ears of MC treatment were more than WC treatment by 13.54%; the grain number of MZ treatment were more than WZ treatment by 5.72%, the grain number of MC treatment were more than WC treatment by 8.56%. |
