In order to understand the characteristics of soil seed banks of soil slope and soil-rock slope in mountainous area of Beijing, we carried out researches to find out the size of soil seed banks, species composition of soil slope and soil-rock slope, and the relationship between species composition and its ground vegetation.We did field survey and collected soil samples from Jiufeng Forest Park, Mount Baihua and Mount Yunmeng in Beijing from July,2015; then we did the main results showed that:Based on field survey, we found 55 species belonging to 27 families and 53 genera in all sample sites; after indoor germination experiments, we discovered 42 species belonging to 20 families and 40 genera. Though the number of species of surface vegetation was more than seed bank, but in each sample sites we found more plant species in seed bank which meant that the stability of seed bank community composition was much more than surface vegetation.There were 23 species of vegetation aboveground and 27 species of soil seed bank in soil slope,with 17 species of vegetation aboveground and 23 species of soil seed bank in soil-rock slope in Jiufeng Forest Park. There were 29 species of vegetation aboveground and 31 species of soil seed bank in soil slope,with 26 species of vegetation aboveground and 30 species of soil seed bank in soil-rock slope in Mount Baihua.There were 15 species of vegetation aboveground and 19 species of soil seed bank in soil slope,with 13 species of vegetation aboveground and 19 species of soil seed bank in soil-rock slope in Mount Yunmeng.In combination with the data of all samples, the number of species of aboveground vegetation and soil seed bank in the sample of the soil slope is more than that of the sample of the soil and rock slope. In addition to the analysis of the characteristics of the soil seed bank, it was found that the density of the soil seed bank and biodiversity index of each soil slope test sample were also higher than those of the samples of the soil and rock slope in the same area.As there were much more species in surface vegetation than seed bank in this three sample sites, in the process of vegetation recovery, when we choose seed bank as recovery material, we should consider these special species; seed bankw collected from soil slope were more than soil-rock banks in seed bank density, biodiversity index, it was much more suitable for vegetation recovery.
