China is one of the most abundant forest resources in the world. The data of forest resources are updated by the new technology of Internet of Things which can accurately, timely and quickly grasp the status of forest resources, solving the problem of the current forest resources survey method which is time consuming and laborious, the investigation method is backward and the forest resources archives can not be updated in a timely manner and so on. Which is of great significance to promote the development of modern forestry in China.In August 2013, the State Forestry Administration issued the "Guidelines for the Development of Chinese Intelligent Forestry", the wisdom of the forestry will on the basis of digital forestry, Comprehensive application of cloud computing, networking, mobile Internet, big data and other new generation of information technology, make forestry realize the intelligent perception, intelligent management and intelligent service. Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC, the state has increased investment in the construction of ecological civilization, and strict adherence to the forestry ecological red, the quality and structure of the forest improved steadily, forest resources in our country entered the period of rapid development. The application of Internet of things technology to update forest resources data is an important part of the dynamic monitoring of forest resources.The main works are as follows:(1) The design research on subcompartment-information sign and communicator: using the Internet of things technology, combined with the characteristics of forest resources data to analyze the needs of the subcompartment-information sign and communicator, I carry on the detailed design to the main component of the subcompartment-information sign and communicator which include hardware function structure and the embedded software, the RFID tag store subcompartment information, the intelligent terminal installed with the RFID reader can read and write the RFID tag information in the scanning range.(2) Research on intelligent terminal software design for forest resource data updating:according to the actual demand of the forest resource data updating system, completed the updating of forest resources data intelligent terminal software architecture design, function design and database design. Investigators are navigated from the residential area into the survey area by using the software path analysis module.Then get the subcompartment information from the RFID tags by using the radio frequency identification technology, at last save the graph and attribute information after updating the changed information, in good condition of network, directly uploaded to the temporal spatial database of forest resources.(3) Research on spatio-temporal data updating of forest resources:firstly, analyzed the evolution process of the forest resources spatial temporal data and the spatial temporal data model, establish the forest resources spatial and temporal data model which is consistent with the actual improvement of forest resources investigation; and then the update rules and process of forest resources data were analyzed, the model of spatial temporal data updating of forest resources was established;at the end of the subcompartment data analysis of the characteristics, designed the spatio-temporal database of forest resources. The stored data which has been uploaded to the server using object-relationship amendments extended to spatio-temporal data updating model to update the subcompartment data, forestry management can make a comparative analysis of the updated data.(4) Application of spatio-temporal data updating of forest resources based on Internet of things technology:take Guangzhou City as an example, combined with the actual situation of the forest resources in Guangzhou City, according to forest subcompartment information sign and communicator of forest resources, spatio-temporal data updating of forest resources app and the requirement for spatio-temporal data updating of forest resources, select the RFID tag for the specified standard, on the basis of a brief introduction of the development platform, the structure and function of APP and server software are developed, and show the main results with pictures.So far, there has not been found the relevant research in our country that using the Internet of things technology to update the spatio-temporal data of the forestry resource. This model has a prospective study on the methods of forest resources survey and data updating, can be timely, accuratly and fastly to update the subcompatment’s graphics and attribute information, and intuitive comparison of historical spatial data. But in reality, it may be limited to the current development of the Internet of things technology, radio frequency range from only a few meters to tens of meters range; Continuous improving the software structure and function according to the requirement of forestry management department.
