When pursuing benefit, the irrational applying N fertilizer is becoming increasingly serious, which results in low N use efficiency and a serious of environmental problems. In order to achieve win-win agronomic and environmental effect, the international and domestic studies have transformed from improving the technique and methods of fertilization to change the properties of N fertilizer. The concept of synergic urea alters thoroughly the nutrient release mode of the fertilizer itself, makes it the same as the working mechanism of nutrient uptake so as to improve the utilization of fertilizer, and reduces the degree of environmental pollution resulted from fertilizer loss. The experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of synergic urea on yield, N uptake and N balance in the maize field, The major findings are as follows:1. The "control and reserve" nutrient release mode of synergic urea can maintain a higher NO3-N content on the surface soil in the process of maize growth. An enough N was maintained in root area of maize.2. The utilization of synergic urea can not only balance the content of NO3-N in the soil but also control the leaching loss of Nitrogen to the lower layer of soil effectively.3. The utilization of synergic urea can not only balance the content of NO3-N in the soil but also control the leaching loss of Nitrogen to the lower layer of soil effectively.4. SPAD value is obviously high in the middle and later periods of maize growth after using synergic urea. Compared with other normal urea, the synergic urea effectively improved chlorophyll content of maize at late growth stage and reached a high yield.5. The application of synergistic urea could promote the growth of maize, increased the production of maize kernel, enhance the amount of nitrogen absorption of part of kernel and straw significantly and utilization of nitrogen. At the same time, the application of synergistic urea can reduce the apparent loss of nitrogen and help to reduce nitrogen surplus of soil. In this case, the degree of nitrate nitrogen leaching loss is lower than conventional urea treatment and corresponding environmental risk.
